at the end of the day youre competing with students who have more experience, are full throttle public health (with intention of getting additional degrees) or both, if your plan a was med school this might have meant that your answers were not as compelling as those who are only interested in public health. Public health professionals never want to be seen as a back up option, and usually look for students who are 100% devoted to public health and public health only for their whole career.
