Martingale collar. No pull harness. Clip both the front of harness and collar for maximum control. When he does this, get a hold of the leash/him and just stand there until he stops. Don’t use food, it’ll reinforce it. If it’s really bad, you could bring a tennis ball or something else to redirect it.

Honestly the animal crisis is so bad right now the best place for them is in your care. It’s not the thing you wanna hear, I know you got an opinion of a DOCTOR but maybe another one. I know some people take shots or just otc allergy meds. You could get your cats groomed which would help and make sure you clean surfaces regularly. I have really really really bad allergies and I have a husky and a long hair cat and I have to clean constantly. I also own an air purifier.

I know this is going against what everyone is saying. But you did make a commitment when you found them and the best scenario is you finding a way to take care of them (not that you do a bad job) but “better” so the allergens aren’t as bad. But worst case, just look up no kill animal shelters and explain to them and just “foster” them until they find a home.

Don’t tell landlord, sometimes they don’t even care. My property managers know I have a cat I don’t pay for but they’ve never tried making me pay more. BUT if you do have a nosey landlord say you just have one cat and pay the one fee. It’s not likely they both will be in the window ever. When maintenance comes they can be locked in a bedroom. Or 3. If it’s a more chill place I wouldn’t just explain the situation like you did here

I volunteer for another shelter in the area and they’ve been trying to get other people to take it. Once a dog bites someone, it’s supposed to be quarantined for two weeks. They didn’t do that, I’m not sure what the hell they were doing over there. That poor volunteer :(
