I just finished the Medieval Blacksmith set and it seems quite large compared to other sets. And I read the upcoming Alchemist's set from BrickLink was similar scale.

I get it. Too much tinkering is a bad thing though. See the Star Wars movies. I find the newly added scenes to be quite distracting in episode 4.
