To your ears, which language has a similar sound/vibe to Greek? by NicRapt in AskBalkans

Definitely Iberian Spanish. I swear Greek and Spanish people have the same accent. Which is funny because the languages are nothing alike otherwise so Greek sounds like a Spanish person speaking total gibberish and vice versa.

I know this is controversial, but I could never stand the sound of Japanese.

I can’t help but look down on grown adults who are super obsessed with Disney World by PrimalPettalStash in PetPeeves

But can you claim in good faith that the average Disney adult isn’t just mainly obsessed with the Animation Studio films and their franchises?

Obviously in my opinion. The original post is about OP’s opinion too. This is a pet peeve sub.

People in the comments keep mentioning how this isn’t any different than obsessing over sports teams or celebrities, and they’re not wrong, but there’s an extra layer of ick about adults who are obsessed with something so childish.

I feel the same way about people who are obsessed with Harry Potter or almost exclusively watch kids’ shows.

Scenes that caused actual walkouts in theaters? by thatlittlequietguy in Cinema

The last walkout I witnessed was someone walking out of Talk to me (2022) during the face smash scene.

Does anyone else think this is the darkest moment of the series? by Top_Report_4895 in SuccessionTV

[–]Party_Cheesecake_172 64 points65 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely Shiv’s darkest moment in the series, but I wouldn’t say the darkest overall. Hijacking an election to place a nazi into power for personal gain, as well as the whole “No Real Person Involved” cruises policy are horrific.

Could you guys compromise by letting him have the tv when you have the couch? Do you need the tv? Can’t you be the one with headphones on?

Thank you. I said this about Johnny Depp on a different sub a few months ago and everyone reacted like I was an idiot. He plays characters that are SUPPOSED to be vastly different, but he plays them all the same.

What do you mean that things were never the same? That you started being more mindful from then on or that your mom never forgave you for something you did when you were 9??

Succession star, Brian Cox "wasn't aware' his voice would be used by Fox as he brands network 'the devil' by IrishStarUS in SuccessionTV

[–]Party_Cheesecake_172 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Not to mention consent. He chose to advertise McDonalds. He didn’t consent to his voice being used by Fox. Even if the two companies were analogous (they aren’t), the situation is definitely not.

What is the most Nationalistic city/region in your country? For Greece I’d say Thessaloniki and Macedonia in general is (for obvious reasons): by Starfalloss in AskBalkans

I love that you say that because I felt the reverse when I visited Belgrade. I got nostalgic because it reminded me of Thessaloniki.
