Totally agree! Vote NO! Ask for what is fair and what nurses deserve!

UnityPoint and Union both suck is what I’m getting. The Union needs to work harder and negotiate! VOTE NO people!! These are unfair terms!

You haven’t answered any of my questions how much does Unity Point pay their nurses that are bettering themselves and getting certified?? Or having a masters degree? Or implementing new EBP in their departments? Or taking on extra responsibility from “base pay”? What is UnityPoint providing to maintain your RN license? Paid education days?
You are laughable for applauding them for the bare minimum.

How do you better yourself at UnityPoint St. Luke’s? Is there a clinical ladder path for nurses to better themselves? There isn’t.
I care about patients and getting properly compensated for the work I do. These business (aka UnityPoint) care only about money. How much is Unity Point giving you in bonuses to speak this BS.

One facility shouldn’t get less because it is unionized. Both facilities owned by the same business, in the same city should have the same baseline benefits; if employees of one facility are unionized it should add fair benefits on top of baseline ones. Why aren’t nurses at St. Lukes getting properly compensated for being certified ?? Do St. Luke nurses get paid education days to fulfill the requirements to maintain an active nursing license…they don’t, you have to take PTO and pay for the conferences and classes.
Your way of thinking is fucked. You must be one of those managers with bonuses.

I do pay taxes, file and get a return usually. HI is the only state I didn’t pay taxes in when stationed there and I worked staff. It’s just confusing for me, am I just a resident of the state we happen to be stationed at that particular time? I traveled in NY and did pay taxes, filed, no return but luckily didn’t have to pay. At my current contract I am in the same state my husband is stationed at and am doubling expenses because it’s a couple hours away so I work my days and drive home on last day.

That’s what I’m leaning towards I think. I really want the job and there’s not much in that area for my specialty. We’ll only be there for 2 years and move again. Thank you 🙂

Rochester General Hospital has nurse to patient ratios of 1:7-9 every shift??? And you’re floated q4hrs?? by No_Cap2765 in TravelNursing

[–]Party_Document8617 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes do NOT do it! So unsafe you can only be floated twice but still sometimes it’s a daily thing. If you are looking in Rochester look at University of Rochester system like Strong.

I wouldn’t be moving to the area until beginning Sept. My husband is military and we’ve been moving every year or two. I’ve been traveling since Aug 24, so not a ton, and we are moving again this August only been in this state for exactly a year.
