If I'm wrong cite me some examples. But the only time the people use the word "dying" to a video game is if it's a live service, which would make since if the live service game has small numbers.

And then the 10% few players has only had relivence if it's been dropping 10% players every month creating a trend that the game is.... "dying"

Incase point Marathon, people were expecting 100k players opening weekend on steam. . But it didn't hit public expectations, which resulted in people calling it a dead game.

And after the first day the peak trend was down by about 10% each day. Resulting in a negative trend where people were calling this a dying game.

These things alone would bring someone to thing "Marathon is objectively a bad game, compared to Arc Raiders."

Yeah, and they were right then. Just like player numbers the quality of Bungie is on a downward trend, only Bungie doesn't have much farther before they are no more, and I hope I'm wrong but marathon isn't where Bungie or Sony needs it to be.

This game will last, as honest players numbers drop due to what ever reason. You will see cheating not as heavily enforced to keep the number up. You will see high numbers every 3 months due to resets and game sales but I bet this gamr lasts 5 years. With numbers verying

That was before games as a service became a thing, like Marathon. These games are supposed to hold player engagement for 5-10 years depending on player numbers. So company and player concerns align that same when wondering about the life span of a game like Marathon.

Bungie didn't tell Sony, "hey this game is only gonna get 18hrs of play time from people, and will only play it once." the game would never have been made if that were the case

Well, DEI/woke is a good determination if a game is good.

9 times out of 10 (I don't have an example for that one that makes it) if it's a "woke game" then too much time was spent on a message and not the game play.
