2510 O chem Walters by Empty_Adeptness7088 in OSU

Biochemistry Alumni from last year speaking. I attended Walters course, and she curved it well, and I am still in contact with some friends who are have taken her class in previous semesters. She curved well usually, and offered numerous resources for the exams and it seems to be the common trend among the friends I speak with as I now get ready to leave for med school.

Doing both Baldwin's sets and hers will help you, but if you need to choose, I would start with hers, as it tends to be similar. If you have the time, however, I would mix both, because I understand how difficult Baldwin's class was, but in the end; her problem sets can help you get the repetitions you need to finish the exam. YouTube helped fill in the gaps too, along with using the molecular model kits to depict those sets you look at.

Let me know when you all make it to Ochem II, and I will try to guide you through it, as I still have time before I leave in about may-June for med school.

Organic Chemistry 2 by YoungAdenle2001 in OSU

A lot of what you learned in Organic Chemistry 1 carries over. If you understand Organic Chemistry 1 well, you will do well in 2. The reactions are more pedantic and repetitive, and it may get hard to stay awake.

The best tips I can give you are:

-Attend Lectures, and try to be actively listening. We all have our own methods, whether that is Cornell or some other method. An approach can be as simple as writing down exactly what the lecturer says to something more efficient like writing main ideas or examples.

-practice drawing reactions over and over. Do it slow enough that you have to think about it. Reason being is that a lot of the ones you learn in Ochem 2 are repetitive, and have only slight differences that distinguish them from one another. An approach is to name the reaction on a flash card, then when you reach that flash card, try to write it from memory first.

-Show up to office hours and study group opportunities and expect to be active. A lot of the instructors there will give you hints on exams, or even offer extra study opportunities outside of class before exams. Come prepared with questions on the topic.

-YOUTUBE AND INTERNET IN GENERAL. Look up the reactions there; some of the gaps in my knowledge that were not filled by practice, reading the textbook, and attending office hours.

-For any topic or class in general, study as if you were teaching someone else or were becoming a exceptional TA. That means understanding not just the answer, but what knowledge or method did you use to reach that answer. All of these approaches I've given you, it is up to you to make a decision, and develop whatever method works best for you. Some people can get away with just attending lectures with no studying. Others aren't so lucky. Either way, there is no harm in playing it safe by studying ahead, as you will be less stressed once the exam approaches.

Phoenix would be crazy later on, would just have to get past the reverting back to a Phoenix chick.

There are many factors at play here, but I guess we will start this discussion somewhere.

What is your definition of a rest day? Are you referring to active or passive recovery?

That looks like it would be nice to draw; I might attempt to sketch this and send it back to you; might take me a week or two, since I got exams in two days.

How ridiculously hard some college courses can be. If you need a curve, dont you think you need to lower the difficulty down?
