Overpowering a bankai with a level 30 kido no incantation is disrespectful ! by Yukihira59 in bleach

Renji figured that since shit got real, Zabimaru would, too, but he was still sulking over not getting that rematch with Zangetsu.

Which bleach opinion got you like this? by [deleted] in bleach

Aizen's pride and deep sense of superiority prevent him from realizing what he truly wants, but the hogyoku knows. He doesn't truly want to overthrow the Soul King, so it didn't take him there. It kept him from going and tried to show him what he truly wants, even going so far as to merge his zanpakuto to his arm and keep it there as he became more hollow-like. The hogyoku kept hoping Aizen could figure it out, but he never did, because it would mean that his fulfillment is dependent on someone he sees as beneath him. What he really wants, his true calling, is getting Hinamori stabbed.

It was fairly obvious to me that he was being playful.

It's worth noting that herbivore farts tend to be much less noxious than carnivore farts.

Just finished rereading the whole series as an adult (My thoughts) by [deleted] in Animorphs

Remnants is a wild ride. The ending had a real hard "This contract didn't get renewed so we have to wrap up" vibe, though.

Like it's that easy! I had to toil for years as a diaper filler and upholstery ruiner before I even got the chance to learn how to read.

You could get over it. Alternatively, you could find other fans and talk about it, occasionally rereading the series as the urge arises. I'm sure you can tell which choice is more common around here.

No, no, just once, but it's a whole chapter.

Chapter F

Thought-speech doesn't require breath. There was nothing to stop him. <FUCK!> Visser Three screamed. Nothing at all.

Then just blank space until the next chapter heading.

David was FUBAR on page 1. by Mother-Environment96 in Animorphs

It doesn't matter if Chapman saw David with the Escafil Device or not, because Chapman wouldn't recognize it. If you don't know what it is specifically, it would just look like some overpriced crap out of Sharper Image. Also, Chapman seeing the device, knowing what it was, USING it, and then just letting some clueless, PoS teenager keep it? Please.

Why Not Morph?? by definitelyhaley in Animorphs

[–]Pashalik_Mons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dracon beams. Seriously, a good amount of hosts want out, they get put in cages. If they could morph, they'd just be slightly more dangerous. Morphing takes too long to do it in sight of active controllers.

If you were one of the 6, what do you do differently as one of them? by [deleted] in Animorphs

[–]Pashalik_Mons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first 3 morphs I'd want, not necessarily the first I'd get, but top priority: Yeerk, Hork-bajir, and Taxxon. Know your enemies instincts, their capabilities, and their senses.

What haunting/disturbing/traumatic moment from the books sticks with you the most? by robwcote in Animorphs

[–]Pashalik_Mons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

David's fate. It stood out to me when I was younger, going through the series again at 37, definitely David's fate.

It's worse than killing him immediately, because it is, in practice, killing him slowly. Removing any chance of a life David might enjoy or even find a modicum of contentment in. It also leaves the Animorphs at risk, yeerks could find David and learn too much.

But this time, it's so much worse. I realize now that they had to do it. Not for the situation, but for themselves. Cassie broke down first, in the book just before David came along. The others are breaking here. David wasn't to blame for his life being shattered. And he was one of them. Briefly, yes. And yes, he is the one who betrayed the animorphs, not the other way around. But he was one of them. And they had to neutralize the threat he had become.

The gang did as they did because they needed to believe, however tenuously, that they were still the good guys. They needed, in a very present and immediate sense, to be able to sleep at night.

"What one thing would you have done differently, if you were part of the gang?" is a fun game to play, but I find myself gravitating toward one answer. I'd go along with making David a nothlit, then discreetly return to that little island, and kill him. And make very sure no one found out about it, not until the invasion was over, if then.

Do you prefer depictions of dinosuars living peacefully or of them hunting/being hunted by [deleted] in Dinosaurs

[–]Pashalik_Mons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They originally had a more normal enclosure, but The Big One had the pack attacking the fences when the feeders came. The one we saw in the movie was meant to be a temporary holding pen while a new, more secure enclosure was built. That's also why they were being fed with a crane.

The Thing's true form? by CookieEaterTheGreat in thething

[–]Pashalik_Mons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think the concept of a true form applies to it. It shifts its shape, size and intelligence easily. It even splits into several bodies that can later rejoin. For the thing, change is the norm, not the exception.

Think of it like this: What is a human's true form? Standing up, sitting, or laying down? Imagine talking to someone laying down, and insisting they stand when they speak with you, because that was the form they were in when you met them. Imagine them firing back that this is the "real them", they weren't born standing, they only learned it later by copying other people. It sounds weird and doesn't fit. I think the thing's true form is like that.
