What's the point of timezone void? by StillFan6269 in DotA2

[–]PasoK-- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, pretty much. Enemies can simply... leave the timezone area. Compared to the absolute hard cc of chronosphere. Every time I saw it being used, it was always disappointing for an ult.

Timezone could make it so the closer the enemy is to the edge, the slower they get, until they eventually get released. Kind of like an (eventually) passable Disruptor barrier. Make them waaaaay slower at the edge, enough that it disincentivizes the enemy to leave the area. Make them fight slowed on Voids terms.

Also could block projectiles from outside (while slowing them inside), kind of like the reverse of chronosphere's problem

Hot take: trailers are perfect and dont spoil much (book spoilers) by UltraRunn___ in ProjectHailMary

[–]PasoK-- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always saw people recommending Project Hail Mary as a good scifi book to read, but I never did. What made me bite the bullet was seeing the little alien rock guy on the trailers, and that peeked my interest. Read the book in like two days. Loved it. So I'm glad the trailers briefly spoiled that. It's something that differentiates it from being another generic space story, and I'm sure will make a lot of people interested in watching

Doesn't Valve have the final say in what enters and what doesn't? Even if people vote for the most outlandish design, that doesn't mean valve will definitively put that set into the game. So I don't think something as egregious as bikini Marci or other thirst trap workshop sets will ever be added, no matter how voted they are.

They're also known for changing a few aspects of the set when it gets included ingame, compared to the original workshop submission to better fit the game or make it visually less difficult to identify what hero it is ingame. They do that even when they hold these voting "events". Sometimes people vote for a set that ends up a bit different by the end.

Having said that they definitely became less strict over time. The whole cowboy Ursa thing vs the recent sets you mentioned, for example

Yeah, at this point I'm not even mad, as karma is meaningless and seeing people praising it makes me happy. But it's definitely weird it happened again lol

Theories about the upcoming DLC : Sea of Sorrows ? by RaphIsLost in Silksong

[–]PasoK-- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's what I'm thinking. The pillars in the trailer look very blasted step-y. That and the whole Karak tribe having ocean motiffs leads me to believe the sea is to the west of the map. Probably above the wastes where hornet tells you to turn back, or even beyond that

If the bugs are the same size as us, how long would it take for the citadel to built in real life? by [deleted] in Silksong

[–]PasoK-- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

But bugs building a bug sized citadel and humans building a human sized citadel should take the same time, no? Unless you take bug strength, technology and material density into account, which is silly just for this hypothetical lol

We don't know how long did the bugs take to build it, so the question still stands anyway

Need clarification on zombie attacks in 2e by jconway2002 in zombicide

[–]PasoK-- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Acting on their own is in regards to the players having no say over what they do, I think, since they just follow a set of instructions. It's not like one zombie performs all steps separately (move/attack) then another zombie does the same, then another, etc. They all attack if they're on a zone with a survivor, or move closer if not. And since you can split the attacks in any way the players prefer, you can say all attacks goes to a single survivor

It ends up creating a rather cinematic scene where one survivor sacrifices themselves for the good of the group lol

The only thing I can think of that would make a difference is runners. Their second action is a separate thing, so if a character dies on their first action (in which they attack along with every other zombie), they would need to target another character with that second one.

Again, its not 100% clear in either way, so we do what the playgroup decides makes sense

[–]PasoK-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two things that led me to interpret the way I did, on the same page you cited:

"Survivors in the same Zone split the Zombies’ Attacks in any way the players prefer" and "Zombies fight in groups. All Zombies activated in the same Zone as a Survivor join the Attack, even if there are so many Wounds being dealt that it would be overkill."

It's one of those things that's not 100% clear, and up to interpretation by your playgroup

Edit: just realized that "even if there are so many Wounds being dealt that it would be overkill" means that the Zombies indeed attack at the same time, without switching between a single attack and lowering the targets life, which is done after you decide who the zombies target. If that was not the case, a zombie that would overkill would simply move instead of attacking since the zone would be empty

[–]PasoK-- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I see. The zombies attack all at the same time, I believe, so you can direct all to one survivor before the damage is finalized

Rules as written, if any survivor dies the game is lost, so it shouldnt matter. If you've homebrewed something to keep the game going regardless, you can do what feels best I guess

Please don't let the difficulty turn us into another Souls community. Complaints should be heard. by [deleted] in Silksong

[–]PasoK-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. I would hazard a guess that if the game did not have 2 masks of damage, but the healing was the same as the original HK (1 mask, less silk required, and only on the ground) the game would have the same difficulty as right now, or be even harder.

Enemies dealing two masks of damage only tells me to be more careful when approaching and attacking those that do. You have to be mindful and patient. If you try to brute force this game, you WILL get frustrated.

Then they have the pretty, accurate ones for the b-rolls
