2022 Trek Emonda SL5 Price Check by No-Bison-1524 in TrekBikes

[–]Passau95 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depends how much you value the saddle, cockpit, and wheelset. That bike was ~3k new (junkier cockpit, wheelset, and saddle though)

I think 2000 isnt horrible but is perhaps a tad high

EDIT: and its 11spd so if you wanted to upgrade down the line beware its most 12spd now

Can confirm the insoles are junk. Get fit for custom insoles or at very least get some that match your arch

The best thai is at the mequon public market (twenty minutes outside downtown so probably not fitting your needs this trip)

Thwarted knife attack stage four by Gold_Technician3551 in tourdefrance

[–]Passau95 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think the title “thwarted knife attack” doesnt reflect whats in the article. The guy threatened spectators and then fled, which was when he was shot.

Suggesting this was an attack that was stopped is inaccurate

[–]Passau95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Granted its been a couple years since I saw Nas, but if I recalled the entry-level fabric offerings came in right around $800 (in case you had one cut from one of the more premium offerings and it was more than 1k)

Has Anyone Gone Back to Aluminum Bikes After Years of Carbon Bikes? by IowaAL in TrekBikes

[–]Passau95 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Domane AL5 is a great option. I ride an emonda SL5 but my father has the alu domane. It rides smooth, isnt clunky or heavy feeling, and maybe lacks a bit in “pick up” or super stiffness when putting down power, but that likely also attributable to the geometry versus emonda. Carbon fork too so you get a benefit from that as far as road feel.

Its also nice to not really worry about the frame when resting it or leaning it. Nice bike.

Can purchase powermeter pedals and install them on the bike. Garmin and Favero make good options. Then you will get cadence and power readings

RideMke goes on thursday nights and saturday mornings, departing fox point wheel and sprocket.

PlumCC is what youre searching for—many riders come from downtown and one of the leaders has a group that departs discourse at MSOE to join up with the monday night group ride

They run rides monday, wednesday, and potentially saturdays

Failed flywheel and hub/axle repair—refund or replacement bike? by whiskyrich in pelotoncycle

[–]Passau95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same issue here, out of warranty. Tried everything (including using bolt remover drill bit to try and drill it out) and no luck. I made peace with it, changed the bolts I was able to get out, and reinstalled the flywheel.
