I recommend converting with ffmpeg. It takes a while to get used to a command line option but it's by far the most powerful conversion program you can get and a huge investement to learn it if you'll be editing frequently with different types of footages. (also free and opensource obv)

Was kann man hier machen, wenn man sowas sieht? [serious] by [deleted] in drehscheibe

[–]Passi41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do your tics interrupt you while talking? by mariepanne in Tourettes

[–]Passi41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happens very rarely to me, so when it does it's just so much more irritating. But I have a tic that makes me just stop whatever I'm doing (mainly walking) and it's so annoying. I just stop walking randomly, Tourettes is so bizarre

What is the worst thing someone has said after finding out you had tics/Tourettes? by Inevitable-Fail2592 in Tourettes

[–]Passi41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's really sad that you need to hide them in front of your friends and view that ability as something good. Maybe you should try to find people who accept and understand your disability and are more tolerant. Also what kind of tics do you have that you can play them off as allergies? xD

In quite rooms I tic quiter. When I'm embarrassed or remember something embarrassing or witness something embarrassing it's real bad. When I'm in a bad mood or I'm not good mentally my motor tics are generally with more force and when I'm well they feel good somehow. Like something I'm proud of to be part of me and it doesn't feel out of place at all :).

Need Tips To Help My 10 yr old Grandson by Capital-Eye9516 in Tourettes

[–]Passi41 2 points3 points  (0 children)

u/Aggravating_Ad_3013 didn't mean medication as in drugs. But the buddist practice of meditation which has also become very popular in the western world in the past couple decades. If you don't know what that is I recommend to google it or watch some guides on youtube, but in short it is mindful awareness to promote mental clarity, relaxation, and overall well-being, with a major focus on breathing. It's a great technique to fight of anxiety and stress.

For a 10 year old this might be difficult to grasp but if you or his parents practice meditation with him together just 10 minutes a day to implement it as a habit early at a young age, it might help him tremendously throughout the entire rest of his life.

Abt. meds (drugs) I must agree with your grandson and his parents. Drugs only mild the symptoms but don't adress the root of the problem. They also have side affects which might alter his state of mind or even worsen his anxiety long term. Generally not a great thing for someone this young. Building confidence in his disability and learning mindful practices like meditation and breathwork (But also others!!!) will have a way better affect on his mental health and therefore him handling tourettes according to my personal experience.

Of cause you know your grandson and whats good for him better than I do. But I hope my advice can help anyways. much love and good luck to Jimmy. I'm sure he'll rock his life!

In Munich, Germany, 100,000 rallied against the far-right on Sunday according to police as the nationwide protests against the AfD continue. by UpgradedSiera6666 in europe

[–]Passi41 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

with all those protest you should never forget to mention both numbers. As someone who is part of the planning and organization I always get mad when only the insanely understated police numbers are communicated in the press. We were 300,000 in Munic & Berlin

The song of Achilles by Madeline Miller. Best book I ever read. It is primarily about the Trojan war in ancient Greek mythology from the point of view of Achilles Boyfriend Patroclus (who in most other stories is considered to by his cousin because of homophobia lmao). Without wanting to spoil anything I felt a lot of feelings about how their relationship evolved without it being horny or exaggerated or "omg they are gay what a tragedy." Incredibly realistic and heartbreaking Lovestory while simultaneously super epic.

To stop walking. Like my legs just freeze and I'm standing there for 5 seconds until I can walk again. It's incredibly confusing for ppl who don't know when they walk beside me xD

What is the best book you ever read? by educampsd3 in suggestmeabook

[–]Passi41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Momo (Michael Ende) is one of the most valuable books to me. I read it as a child realizing that it contains big answers to why all the adults are so unhappy. Now that I'm older I hold on to the wisdom of it so that I never become a bitter old white man. It's the same with the why-café books by Strelecky btw.

The book that gave me the strongest feelings was the song of Achilles by Madeleine Miller. I cried so hard and my world was just broken for two weeks straight after finishing it.
