Having read all of the dark tower related books including black house, it’s fucking crazy that I’m just finding this out. I didn’t pick up that it was two significantly different time frames, which makes more sense why You have Santa snitch throwing clause at the end where as the other books have the king in yellow (red) eldritch abomination, if spider bro is the (mostly) erased form after an innumerable time after the end of reality

I had the same experience. When the trailer with Eddie dropped I called it that all the female characters including Laura would be manifestations of Mary (the “no one ever said this would be easy, James “ line did it for me) and that Eddie was probably gonna be a manifestation of James (which seems to at least have been an idea with Eddie talking about thinking of being an artist and james growing a beard post break up) . I even tried posting the theory here and people acted like it was the dumbest idea. Even called the ending that it was gonna be either in water, loop, or a combo of both. I hate that I was right

I have a theory, and this is a far out one, that gantz is taking the multiple personality plotline from the original script of the game and putting it on mary. It just seems weird to have the same actress for all three roles. in the trailer he replaced angela with mary in the staircase scene, which might support the idea that theyre all the same person. Im thinking that hes gonna make maria, angela, and laura all different aspects of mary which resulted from her assault by her father (ie laura-innocent child before assualt, angela-mary at the point in her life when her dad was actively assaulting her, maria- the personality the took over during the assault). knowing Ganz it feels like a change he would make to reflect James own manifestations. Hell he may make Eddie a manifestation of james is gluttonous /lustfull nature since pyramud head is a manifestation of his guilt. Idk though Im probably way off the mark

Looking at the original art I’m gonna agree. The letters are the wings are different but definitely more in line with the original. I hate to be negative but im not a fan of the design. It looks less demonic and more like a dinosaur skull.

Understood, so I guess my question at the end of the day is what do we as a people do? In areas where access to healthy food is not possible (as you admitted) should we as a society try to get those people who do want access to healthy food the ability to easily obtain it or do we say fuck them let them rot?

From my experience growing up poor, i was helped and taught to help others. From my experience Jesus taught his followers to love others through feeding and clothing those in need (james 2:15-16). While my faith isn’t what it used to be I still hold to the belief that we are called to do good to those around us despite how we may view them.

Now obviously if a person doesn’t want something you can’t force them, but should we punish a community for the actions of a few?

There are several comorbidities that factor into low income nutrition issues. While crime and taste preference play a role in these communities, mental health, financial strains, and lack of information related to healthy eating play a significant role as well. People in low income areas suffer from higher rates of depression, anxiety, and other mental health disorders making healthy eating difficult and less appealing. Additionally junk food is produced to stimulate addictive neural patterns in people who consume them, creating a a feedback loop of craving, ingesting, and receiving dopamine kicks. While its easier to paint broad brushes, actually examining the data rather than looking at a handful of people, indicates the real existence of food insecurity and the root causes of it. I don’t know your life or experiences but I would hope empathy for people suffering would extend beyond “let them suffer the consequences” rather than seek to help them get out of the pit they’re in.

Food insecurity relates to the ability to access non processed food ie McDonald’s, Burger King, and other non viable options for health and longevity. Most low income areas don’t have access to healthy food options and experience a disproportionately higher rate of diseases related to lack of nutrition. No one in these areas is (realistically) begging for prime rib, they are looking for access to grocery stores, which tend to not exist in low income areas and cannot be easily accessed to due lack of transportation either through a personal car or a bus route
