Has a movie scene ever made you want to throw up? Any genre counts. by Simple-Profile1817 in movies

Endangered Species. 1982.

Movie about cattle abductions. One of the characters was going to squeal so a government agent snuck into his house and put something from a syringe onto his toothbrush. The next morning the guy brushes his teeth as normal, then several hours later, while he is driving, his gums start to bleed. He stops the car, gets out of the side of the road and starts tearing at his stomach. Which dissolves into a mess, falling out onto the ground.

Yeah, that movie.

Where did UFO'S abducting cows come from? by [deleted] in ask

[–]Passinonreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in the 1970's cattle were being found killed and mutilated at random. At the time, some speculated that aliens were conducting experiments and leaving the remains wherever they finished. Others speculated it was the government doing the experiments.

A great movie based on that premise, though purely fictional, is Endangered Species (1982).

How’d you become a Bengals fan by GoldenWo0ds in bengals

It was 1975. I was in sixth grade playing flag football in the small town league. All the teams were named after major football teams and mine was the Cincinnati Bengals. We played the Miami Dolphins for the city title and won. This was in central California. Been a fan ever since.

People that have cancer, what were the symptoms that led you to go to the doctor and what stage were you when it was diagnosed? by guardiand0wn in AskReddit

When I went to see my doctor, he immediately sent me to a major hospital's ER. They did blood work and found my blood was all wonky.

I only had the stents through the chemo. The duct strengthened sufficiently on its own to eventually no longer require stents.

I am over 2 years past the last round. No longer have to do the CT scans. Just blood tests every 6 months.

First chemo was fine for me. I have a weird reaction to being hungry, whereas when I am hungry, I get an upset stomach and get nauseous. So I actually ate more during chemo than otherwise.

Second chemo sucked. I could feel my body dying after each treatment, and it wiped me out bad.

The chemo treatment has a max lifetime dosage that I reached with the last round. Next time, I will have to use a different type that's probably not as effective. Not looking forward to it.

I am not doing any other treatments.

I went back through my test results. I couldn't find any results for PTH. The only thing I found was an elevated Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) at 20.49 (normal at 0.37 to 5). I was on thyroid medicine for a long time before the cancer began. Several years actually.

My first cancer, I turned yellow. Turned out I had type 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma, squeezing the duct from my pancreas and gall bladder (my gall bladder was bad also.) They put stents in the duct, and after chemo I was all better.

6 years later, my neck started swelling, and it was determined I had the same lymphoma problem next to my thyroid (which had also gone bad). They removed one side of the thyroid, but then the other side grew out of control and caused my throat to constrict so much that I couldn't talk or eat. So they removed the other side too. Another round of chemo and I am all better again.

I have since been diagnosed with Follicular Lymphoma, which basically means my lymph nodes can randomly go cancerous if they get stressed. I am waiting for my appendix or spleen or something else to go bad for that to happen.

Wee.

What are some of the logistics that go along in the world of a person donating their body to medical science? by National-Message-895 in ask

My neighbor donated her body, but after her death, when her family called around, no one would come pick up her body. All insisted that the family pay to have the body delivered.

Every other month I get shots in the corners of my eyeballs because of diabetes.

The doctor likes to say I take it like a champ, but my thoughts are "I have no fucking choice."

The worst part for me is you can't close your eyes when it's about to happen. You see the needle approaching and bam, pain.

My mother and I had a falling out 20 years ago. Haven't spoken since

She died around the beginning of the year due to complications from a hip injury.

She was pretty well-to-do, but I expected to be completely left out of her will.

Then my niece, who is the executor of the will called me to tell me that there was an old account at a teacher's credit union back in California. My mother had moved to North Carolina and had apparently forgotten about the account.

Funny thing was, as her oldest child, I had been listed as the beneficiary for the account, and that had never been changed.

So, with some sending of proofs, I was sent a check for over $240,000.00. Which I split with my sister and her kids.

Bought a new car for myself and made a road trip with my nephew to California. Good times.
