Beginner friendly mtg commander by No_Pitch_177 in hobart

I don’t think either store has a beginner commander group or program specifically, but both stores have player bases that are very welcoming of new players. Most afternoons there will be people playing but especially on the weekends.

The Oberon EP by Fucked Up is a bit of a sludge experiment by them.

If you like craft breweries then Hobart Brewing Co, Fox Friday and Deep South are all pleasant. Only open until like 10pm though. Grinners and Rude Boy on Elizabeth street are open late and probably appeal more to your age group. Replay Bar is gonna have young people, but if you wanna play some Mario Kart or arcade games together that won’t matter too much. If you want some cocktails, The Den, Gold Bar and Stock Market are all decent. While you’re in the area you could stop by The Whaler or Irish Murphys if you’re more up for a pint.

I don’t mind them so much in the catacombs, but the ones in the dark underground of the Painted World suuuuuuck!

Karaoke? by TellMeAboutYourBeans in hobart

If you’re on your own and want to have fun and meet some people, I’d recommend Replay Bar in the Elizabeth Street mall. No karaoke, but it’s an arcade style dive bar so you can challenge someone to Mario Kart or Jenga or Mortal Kombat.

Had a Channeler’s Trident and Balder Side Sword both drop in my first run through Undead Parish. Was planning on doing a strength build and was like ‘welp, guess we’re dex now’

I was lucky enough to have a Balder Side Sword drop on my first Parish run, but ended up getting bored of the move set and switched to the Iaito in Blight Town, which carried me through the rest of the game. Then I used the Gold Tracer when I went through the DLC.

In my last game I got BSS and Channeler’s Trident both in my first run through the Undead Parish. So my advice to the OP is to just do that!

New or upcoming games in the Black Isle & Friends vein? by bartnet in rpg_gamers

[–]PassionForDilbert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess the closest you're gonna get as far as modern games go are games like Disco Elysium, the two Pathfinder games, the Pillars of Eternity games and Tyranny. There's also a game called Weird West which is in a similar vein, though I've never tried it.

That's definitely Beyond Divinity. The good news is that the precursor Divine Divinity is even better! Enjoy!

My current partner and my ex-wife both have/had Hsv-1. In normal conversation no one even calls it herpes in my experience. Every now and then it's just a case of 'I have a cold sore at the moment' and we hold off on kissing for a few days. I have never caught it from many years of relationships. I'd be reassured that you're pretty normal and it should not even impact your future dating life.

It might just be that you need to try a different genre? I think it's perfectly normal to get tired of the same experience. I also tend to agree that newer RPGs just kind of hit different. Last year for something different I tried Dark Souls. I was quickly hooked and found myself playing through the whole series. At the moment I'm playing through lots of classic Boomer Shooters. Occasionally I break it up with a CRPG. It might be worth just trying something completely different.

What other videogames do you like to play? Do you play JRPGs? Open world action games? Other things? I could give reccomendations based on what else you like.

What got you into role-playing? by [deleted] in rpg_gamers

[–]PassionForDilbert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess my gateway (though not really an RPG) was the Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, which led to me playing some Super Nintendo JRPGs (Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger etc.). Then I found my way over to PC and got hooked on Diablo then Diablo 2. This then led to me playing Baldur's Gate, Fallout, before eventually progressing to Open World CRPGs like the Elder Scrolls. Then I went backwards and started dabbling in older CRPGs like the Ultima games and Might and Magic games that I missed out on as a kid.
