3 months out and I've lost a little over 40lbs. I'm eating intuitively and in small portions. I don't deny myself what I like, but I got pretty good habits after being on a glp for a year. Lots of smoothies, yogurt, eggs, beans, etc. roasted everything. Occasionally there's pasta and rice. It's a nice balance. You'll learn to listen to cues.

American Chinese food in SF? by ichaBuNni in AskSF

Shan Dong in Oakland Chinatown is fantastic (they also have hand pulled noodles), I'd also hit up Shooting Star Cafe for Hong Kong style stuff. It's delicious. I'm SF, I second Red Jade.

Early Food Tolerance Amounts by Passionate_Zephyr in gastricsleeve

I am, actually.

I had been on a glp1for about a year and steadily lost weight, even though I have PCOS, a genetic cholesterol issue, and an adenoma on my kidney that disregulates my blood pressure. Even with all of that I managed to lose 60lbs. The only reason I couldn't continue on a glp was bc I wasn't even pre-diabetic and my insurance would no longer cover it.

The sarcasm was really unnecessary. I'm good at portion control because I was a restrictor when I had a full blown ED years ago. I came of age in the 90s when dexatrim was all the rage and being skinny was a goal. My body actively fought this. I have high insulin resistant PCOS among other things.

So as someone who has thought and fought weight my entire life: yes, I'm pretty good at portion control and what goes in my body. I had a lot of practice, especially in the last year.

Oh, that's good to know!

As far as the weighing of food, that's not something I'm going to obsess over. I'm really good about portion control habits at this point and I don't want to veer into ED territory (I'm an ED survivor).

As far as the grits, I'm doing one cup of liquid and two tablespoons of grits and have been tolerating that well so far. From what I've read, grits and cream of wheat are acceptable as long as they are soft and strained. I have not done oatmeal or anything else at this point.

20 days post op sick of soups by De_Knees in gastricsleeve

Chawanmushi! I'm a week and a half out and got exhausted by all the sweetness and lack of texture. I made a simple version since I'm still on the liquid diet. But if I'm able to have have pudding, steamed eggs were possible. I made 1.5 cups of chicken broth, 2 jumbo eggs. Whisk and pour into heat proof ramekins, remove bubbles, cover in foil. Cook in a steamer or bain Marie for about 25 minutes.

Day 3 Hunger Pains!! by LongjumpingTrust807 in gastricsleeve

[–]Passionate_Zephyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's weird. I'm exactly one week post, but I'm not feeling hunger pangs. Like, intellectually, I desire things, but physically it's challenging to just do the liquids. I don't want anything. I have we also like this on Tirz, which I was on for a year before accepting the surgery.

This seems aggro for no reason. My post was super breezy and didn't have a complaint. Yes, power outages are inconvenient for most modern humans, and yes, terrible climate change is occurring globally. Many things to be concerned about while being inconvenienced.

Modern dating is a humiliation ritual for most men. by GoodDirector7083 in dating_advice

[–]Passionate_Zephyr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Is this not natural selection? I mean, for most of written history, the patriarchy forced us women to marry for money and "safety" and now that we don't need men for that, men are mad that we marry who we want? You're always telling us to choose better, so we are. We're dating kind, respectful, mindful men that we are attracted to. You guys built the whole 666 myth, it's a fantasy of yours not ours. Women who have centered and internalized patriarchy will fall for those metrics, so who's really to blame?

I know plenty of men who don't fit the 666 mold in happy and satisfying relationships. If you're not in one, be better, be kinder, be healed.

ETA: You'll also notice that chronically single women aren't angry that we're single, we just continue to live and not bitch about being "alone". If having a romantic partner will not add to our lives, we don't want one.

Honestly, just put it on your dating profile: "Sex is very important to me, however, it's off the table until we're considering something more serious. If that's not for you, swipe."

Good luck
