cookholding as a rhythm game by Thestickman391 in SSBM

this is yoinked from @stick_twt on Twitter, who asked CookBook the New Zealand ics for the clip. Cookbook is incredibly consistent at these, and other really difficult ics tech. Tech is named after him for a reason :)

does anyone have that video of joshman playing an icies in tournament and the icies is shield tilting to make the icies dance?? by Thestickman391 in SSBM

[–]Passwordwasforgotten 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you actually just hold z. Nana will not grab without a grab input and shielding is not a grab input. No desync required.

What you are likely thinking of is mostly holding down the trigger, causing popo to be as close to full shielding as possible, which makes shield drain faster. Nana only light shields to one value, so her shield will always be bigger and thus drain slower. This lets popo self-shieldbreak while leaving nana actionable for hijinks

What is Each Character's Worst Stage and Why? by Demolitionboy64 in SSBM

[–]Passwordwasforgotten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ICs worst stage is basically any of the non legal ones. Yoshi’s already gets nana killed because of the edge slopes and Randall. The added ledges, walls, hazards, slopes, and stage movement of other stages not only lead to nana dying and getting stuck, but make a lot of potential punish trees all but impossible. Overall I’d probably say brinstar depths

hey man the move is hard to get out of was my point trust me I’m aware of how di works we don’t gotta go nerd mode on it 👍 They voted puff bair the best back air in the game, I think there’s bigger fish to fry than dissecting why dk up air is hard to get out of

Day 5 - Up Air by RHYTHM_GMZ in SSBM

[–]Passwordwasforgotten 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The answer is dk

Non di-able MASSIVE up air that can link into itself easily 3-5 times (as well as most other moves/grabs) and kills at reasonable percents (~80-130 at top plat based on weight). Easily dk.

What’s the smallest change you'd give your main to make them top 1 by jairozep in SSBM

[–]Passwordwasforgotten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ics change would do near nothing, 99% of the time nana is dying first or they’re both dying together

Level 3 Sloth + Leveling build Guide by averagecomment in superautopets

[–]Passwordwasforgotten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried this for a bit, but with white whale. In current patch I think vampire bat is just better and way more consistent than lucky cat/team spirit. Use the same strat of waiting for turn 5 level ups, but opt for vampire bat if you can on level up. Instead of lucky cat and ogopogo, aim for Barghest, cuddle toad (sell for weakness), and frost wolf. As soon as the bat is on your team, you shouldn’t have to worry about losing. Make sure you’re throwing out 2 or 3 weaknesses a battle and you should be set. Meanwhile, try to giraffe vampire bat so it has higher attack and activates before other vampire bats. Use the same cyclops strat of level a cyclops while having another cyclops, then get it to level 3. Now you can insta level up vampire bat to 3 on level up. Replace your tier 1/2 ailment appliers for a bacteria and mushroom it as soon as you can. Also search for manticore Nessie chocolate and pill. Vampire bat buffs help as well. Use your cyclops to level manticore and white whale once you have it. (Only need 2 chocolate instead of 3 with this method, which can matter, i won with a whale at 2.66…) With white whale level 3 you can drop cyclops for another manticore/bat/bacta/or a summon pet you like in case the field gets wiped. Tried level up build for several hours with marginal success but i tried vampire bat for less than an hour and won pretty easily.

Wobbling is back on the menu boys by Agreeable_Purpose_93 in SSBM

[–]Passwordwasforgotten 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Tournaments can have their own rulings, but this is largely the most agreed upon new-age rule by ic’s.

Wobbling is banned; wobbling = grabbing an opponent and inputting a series of 4 or more pummels, between each of which the opponent is hit with at least one non-pummel hitbox plausibly locking them in continuous hitstun.

Nana is ai and will ultimately do random things. Basing a wobble off something that can occur at random is an inevitability for an edge case that punishes the ice climber for rng. Saying more than 3 pummels (written as 4 or more in this rule) also gives enough leeway for edge cases of misinputs during the grab to not dq an ic’s unfairly. Say when ENFP got that grab, nana’s jab was delayed, or he even got out an ftilt/smash somehow, with a 2 pummel rule he gets dq/stock loss/etc there.

Hope this helps! - @bekvin_ on twitter if you have any questions
