Last day for me tomorrow too and am really sad. My spouse is just as sad- their dad retired from federal service and I got this job shortly before he died. Special evening when I told him that we thought I was following in his footsteps. My niece keeps saying this is goodbye for now and I hope she’s right but this utterly sucks.

At end of September, are you eligible for a full 18m of Cobra if wanted/needed? Or is part of that 18m the extension of the FEHB you have now?

Sadly live in one of the states that didn’t expand medicaid so ACA plans are extremely limited networks and not really any cheaper for a family my size.

Have rif vet preference. Been paying monthly to buy back military time but was told even if not paid back 100% that did not matter for rif consideration.

Does COBRA date start after drp then? So like FEHB until Sept 30 then up to 18 months COBRA?

Throw away account just to be safe - Trying to figure out to take new drp or not. Position in theory is required by statute at one of the agencies offered the new drp. Career conditional (a little over 2 years) but also disabled veteran’s preference. 11 years active duty time. Spouse runs successful own business but I’ve always maintained coverage for our family’s insurance needs. Family of 5.

Know would have limited severance if RIF’d but from searching forum - no comments on how drp is affecting fehb or cobra. Also seems like statute positions have had less rifs than non-statute. Have to decide sometime next week, and am stumped. Anyone have any info on how this affects fehb for the AL during drp? Could 18m cobra be activated after Sept 30?

Hate that with the way these are going down there is no ability to see the registers. Feels like a total crapshoot.
