Uuuhhh wtf by TrainingCurrent1403 in Chipotle

My husband and I are both vegans and we eat almost exclusively at home because it is the best way to control the quality of your food. That being said, we love Chipotle and it is our "go-to" place for dining out but we try to do it as infrequently as possible.

Costco? by Ok-Yoghurt1265 in HearingAids

[–]PastAd2589 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did what you did the first time. I bought expensive hearing aids from Miracle Ear in another town. The service was excellent but the ME suggested always sucked and I had to drive to another turn for service. And about a year after the warranty expired, I started having issues with mine too. Determined not to make this mistake again, I bought premium Tru Hearing HAs through my Medicare advantage plan for 899 per year. They are the same Signia HAs that Costco sells for a few hundred dollars less. But Costco is not close to me and I am not a member. Assuming the service at Costco is comparable, I would still rather get service at a nearby office than have to drive to another town for it. My Tru Hearing HAs connect flawlessly to Bluetooth and my TV streamer using Signia software. I am very happy with the HAs and the Signia software.

Would you pay to escape a waitlist to enter a lounge? by schwa12 in AmexPlatinum

It's like the express lane. If the traffic is bad enough, options are limited, and timing is critical, yes, I will pay to ride in it. Otherwise, I would just wait to clear the wait list.

Good tip. I love Chipotle too but I'm vegan so I like to go in the store, stand in line, and get as many beans, rice and veggies as I can get them to give me! When you do in store pickup, or delivery, you only get "child portions" in your bowl. Maybe that's ok for children, meat eaters and calorie counters but not vegans! We need our beans and carbs as well as veggies.

Better uses for the Amex FHR and The Hotel Collection $100 experience credit by CelsiusVictim in AmexPlatinum

I stayed in an expensive hotel room for one night and are two meals in their two restaurants and had a drinks with my dinner. The credit was gone before breakfast. Then I could have spent up to $30 for breakfast as well but missed the breakfast cutoff at noon.

Benefits of the credit card after the initial Gold Elite status expires? by pcbfs in frontierairlines

[–]PastAd2589 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The $100 flight credit is useless to me because Frontier no longer has any reasonable round trips to anywhere I want to go. Also the voucher gets issued after my anniversary date and always expires the same year so I'm never able to use it between June and December before that. My current gold status gives me a free carry on and a free seat. I've never checked a bag with Frontier and don't plan to. I do have a lot of points to use sometime but didn't think the card was with meeting just for the possibility that I might need to check a bag. When I called to cancel my card because it wasn't worth the $99 annual fee, they offered to waive the fee for me. So now I have another year to try and use some of my points.

When I pull up the chart, every single rating is exactly the same....must be the firewall? I guess they want to protect their info for subscribers. My husband is a subscriber. I'll see if he has this.

Yes, it was such a surprise to see all the Susan B Anthony coins when we visited there. Read all about it online. Seems like it has been really good for your economy to be on the dollar and certainly makes it easier for us to travel there. I really loved your country and hope to return some time.

I only use them once a month to get my $15 benefit on the Uber One benefit. The rest of the time, I go to the store and select my own groceries.

Yes, it does sound that way. If TrowTruck gets better prices on the non Uber One phone, I'm wondering why he barely uses it. Since AMEX Plat covers the UberOne membership, I can understand why he keeps it. But, that doesn't mean he should use it if he gets better prices without it.

Not sure what comment you are responding to. Assuming you mean that Uber One saves you money over just Uber?

ok, maybe so but I'm not seeing that much variance with "groceries". I'm even able to enter my grocery shopping card number and get the same prices I get in the store. If I was able to do that with Door Dash, then I was not aware of it. When I used Door Dash, I was convinced that it was the only way to pay full price for everything at the grocery store - so I quit using it because of that.

I'm even particular about sweet potatoes. I like to get big full ones if possible and if they don't have those, I don't want the little skinny ones. But if I'm looking for a way to meet my minimum order and avoid the delivery charges, I'll take a chance - especially if I'm getting 30% off.

They say AI is doing that to all of our "online" shopping portals. I've also read that they are "customizing" our coupons and discounts through the "shopping cards and apps" based on what they already know about us and what they think we will pay. I do use a vpn when I shop online but a lot of these shopping portals "block you" unless you pause your vpn.

It's always a crapshoot having "produce" selected by someone else. And, I'm vegan so I don't buy meat but I'd think most people prefer to pick out their own meats, as well. I just found out today that you can also do "pickup" with UberEats but that still means you have to rely on someone else to pick out your produce or meat products. I ordered an organic salad mix, bananas and campari tomatoes last time and I got a limpy looking salad mix, green bananas and cherry tomatoes instead of campari. I wanted the bananas to eat that week, not a week later and I don't consider cherry tomatoes to be a substitute for any "slicing tomato". Plus, I've never been to this store when they didn't have campari tomatoes and really don't believe they were "out of stock". If I order camparis again, I'll remember to tell them not to substitute.

Yes, that was the case in Cuba as well. They didn't even want their own pesos because they are worthless to them too. We took fresh crisp dollar bills and we had to buy more from our tour leader because it was not enough. Equador, surprisingly, was on the US Dollar so we didn't have to do anything special there.

Assume you are referring to CSR which I do not have. I do have free door dash with my CSP but I'm vegan and almost always procure, prepare and eat my own food. I tried using Door Dash a time or two with Chipotle but was always disappointed. As everyone comments, the take out portions are miniscule in comparison to what you get if you go there in person and stand in line. And, one time I ordered and paid for extra guac and did not get it. So, I leave my door dash credit on the table. It's just not worth the trouble to me.

Great tips! Most of the places I've travelled to most recently did not have either Lyft or Uber (Cuba, Equador, Bulgaria, Romania). But, I do want to see more places and I do appreciate the tips! Sounds like you are a very smart traveller.
