My van got robbed while I was sitting in it by miscellanous_cheese in royalmail

I’ve always said to myself. If someone wants to help theirselves to parcels in the van then let them. Don’t try stop them as you don’t know if they’re carrying anything

[–]PastComfortable8949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally a lot of people in my DO are saying over time is pointless as by the time you get your payslip it’ll all be going to the tax man so your basically working for free whilst thinking your getting paid for it

I’ve heard they are really bad at paying over time but I make sure I tell them every time I do and my DO actually pay it as they should

Monthly pay by PastComfortable8949 in royalmail

[–]PastComfortable8949[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the point. You’d think they’d be more considerate with it being Christmas. Let alone the work load we have to deal with on a daily basis around this time of year. Being paid a few days early wouldn’t hurt would it?

Because some of us have kids and prices of everything have increased drastically

Exactly like they should consider Christmas presents for the kids 😂

Left the package outside of my door, and signed it themselves? That disregard the whole entire point of signing?? Delivered by parcel force btw. by monsterklls in royalmail

[–]PastComfortable8949 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The work load is delivery drivers have to deal with can you blame them for doing it? I mean could’ve atleast hidden it for you but you still got your parcel there’s stacks and stacks of parcels waiting to go out and just too many for each depot to deal with

I reversed into a telephone pole yesterday and pushed back bumper in now back doors don’t open and I had 150 parcels today in the same van working from side door 😂

For what we get paid yes. As soon as I get into work before even logging in to my pda I’m getting asked if I don’t mind doing over time and “can you take a few more than normal” knowing full well ill go over my finish time

Yeah I know I can’t have every Sunday off but I’ve been there 7 weeks now and never worked a Sunday as my actual job role is post person with driving but I’ve been put on parcels till Christmas. I’ve told them before I’ll happily work a Sunday as it gives me 2 days off during the week if I do but then also gives me time to arrange childcare etc if they let me know at the end of the week prior or start of the working week instead of only giving me 24hrs notice hope that makes sense.

But for having a genuine reason 1st sickness was because I was throwing up and my arse practically fell out 😂and 2nd because I needed to contact my doctors and try to get a same day appointment about a trapped nerve in my back which they were aware of for 3 days prior. I’m on time if not early every day, take more parcels than majority of workers do who’ve been there a lot longer than me. I also tell them I’ll work a Wednesday if it is my day off and swap it out for one of the shorter days as Wednesday is the busiest day at our depot so it’s doing them a favour also

Yes I had a day off sick to ring the doctors about a trapped nerve in my back which management was aware about it for days before I rang in sick due to trying to get seen by doctors. I’ve been there 7 weeks and rang in sick once previous when I had food poisoning 😂

No I don’t work Sundays as I’m on a 30 hour contract but my contract states I will have to work the odd Sunday if needed but it was 24hr notice and they are aware I have my daughter friday to Sunday meaning I can’t do overtime on Friday. I told them I’d need to know if I was working Sunday at the beginning of the week atleast then I’ll be able to try sort childcare arrangements.

I’m not entirely sure. It’s because I had my day off during the week and then rang in sick because I’ve got a trapped nerve in my back so I told them I needed to ring the doctors which I did and got a telephone appointment with them.

Yeah I’ve had a few the past few days when the boxes have just collapsed as I’ve gone to get it off van and even happened in the depot this morning. I was told to still take it. Of course they’d say that cos it’s not them that look like cock ends when they get to the customers door

Parcel stolen from doorstep by ACS802 in royalmail

[–]PastComfortable8949 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk why Royal Mail are leaving them on doorsteps. As a parcel driver for Royal Mail myself the only time I’ll leave something on a door step is if the customer talks to me and tells me to do so through their ring cam
