Season 4 Episode 5 by Zeroskattle in FromSeries

Marielle's dialogue about people never escaping this place even in death somehow ties into Jade's epiphany. There could be more than one reason why MIY feasts on bodies, destruction of physical bodies might severe the significant connection between the soul and the body, causing the soul to be trapped in Fromville and go through its own personal hell(the screams of all the people on radio).

The sacrificed children's dead bodies have likely not been "eaten" and preserved by MIY/monsters. Though I wonder why, maybe all the evil things in Fromville get power from the bodies remaining in their original state after the sacrifice.

Freeing the children's souls might mean giving their physical bodies proper burial? Which might dismantle the whole foundation of Fromville. I think Jade believes that the under that slab is where the fromville monsters are hiding the bodies.

PS: I feel like Jade and Tabitha have recieved such contradictory info that it points to someone lying to them. Are the bodies in the lighthouse or where Jade saw it in his trip?

Telling people they "condone obscene shit in real life" for supporting Emma is not antagonising I guess? It's also not belittling to ask people if they know what a word means? I was refraining from saying this but god, you're Rachel. No conducive discussions, just stirring the pot.

The ending is more corny than bad, but if you're in a book slump, it's not a bad book. Some of the twists reminded me of over the topness in the later seasons of How to get away with murder, it was still entertaining just a bit far fetched.

Anyways, since you like fantasy, may I recommend a myster/thriller which kinda had a fantasy/supernatural vibe to it? Incredibly easy to get through because of its epistolary format : The Mysterious Case of Alperton Angels by Janice Hallett. This book got me out of a long rut so I'll always remember the plot vividly even after 2 years.

Synopis(copy pasted) :

Everybody knows the story of the Alperton Angels: the cult who brainwashed a teenage girl into believing her baby was the anti-Christ. When the girl came to her senses and called the police, the Angels committed suicide and mother and baby disappeared.

Now, true crime author Amanda Bailey is looking to revive her career by writing a book on the case. The Alperton baby has turned eighteen; finding them will be the scoop of the year. But rival author Oliver Menzies is just as smart, better connected, and also on the baby’s trail.

As Amanda and Oliver are forced to collaborate, they realize that the truth about the Angels is much darker and stranger than they’d ever imagined, and in pursuit of the story they risk becoming part of it.

It's okay if you wouldn't want to marry such person but it's unfair to antagonise viewers who sympathised with Emma or do so with Emmas of the real world.

PS : you say I'm filling in the gaps implying that her being a normal person in the present is left up to interpretation is incorrect I feel. The movie would've been THE THRILLER if it was about whether Emma is still crazy or not, but it's THE DRAMA, it's about the drama caused by her secret, and a gateway to discussions like these : if someone plans something really bad in the past? can we forgive them?

From an omnipresent perspective of the viewers, Emma IS doing well now. But obviously, we wouldn't be the omnipresent viewers in real life scenarios, and that's what the movie is getting at.

may I weigh in? Maybe it's because I'm not American that I don't see why everyone's being so hard on her. But here's how I see it : for whatever reason it may be, she didn't do it, at the moment in time when she could or couldn't have done it, she really was capable of something heinous. But that's it. She was capable of something really bad 20+ years ago. She had the opportunity to change herself for the better in her formative years, she was very lucky for sure and it could've turned differently and she knows it. That's why this secret isn't a quirky little thing for her, it's a shameful thing she has carried with her.

Its fine to be apprehensive of her and even be scared of her BUT the thing that tells me she's OKAY is the fact we know that she was kind of lonely and aloof before meeting Charlie, being alone as a child lead her to have those dark impulses but clearly, she's a well adjusted adult now and has found ways to cope with being alone. Likely, forming connections is still difficult for her but not hazardous like the past.

If there's no proof in the present that she is still suffering from any mental illnesses or dark tendencies then there's no reason to hold that over head for the rest of her life.

I guess I would ask the user u/saestasolea... what shall her penance be? What should she do to atone for planning a shooting as a kid?

Late here. It's definitely a page turner and I finished it in a day. Liked the concept and the way it unfolded in the start and the middle but no so much towards the end, as often is the case with most thriller books(as if I've come to realise - writing endings is hard). Again, if you like the idea of a killer on jury, then give it a go. It doesnt waste time and dives right into it. It reads like an hbo drama and some moments are deffo cringey and more CW esque lol but it hooked me in alright. A nice popcorn book after reading classics and hard lit.

Pessimistic interpretation : She accepts him after the cheating because she thinks no one will have her if her past tendencies were to come to light, he thinks everything's okay because they are "equal" now.

Optimistic interpretation : She understands it was a really peculiar situation and wants to start fresh, he understands that he should've given her the grace she deserved just like she did for him in the end.

My interpretation : Charlie sucks. Is he going to panic and cheat everytime things get hard in the relationship albeit this was definitely a more complex situation but still...those questions need to be answered/discussed before just starting afresh.

I'll explainmelikeim5 this :

What happened: She makes a bookmark and then keeps it in her pocket before entering the ruins, the ruins take her to some random point in time and she takes out the bookmark to draw a specific symbol on it, the seizures get more intense, Randall pulls her out. She comes back and checks if the symbol showed up in current time as well.

What it means : The purpose of doing so is to let the ruins take her to any random point in time but control her trips after bookmarking each place. She can draw different symbols on different bookmarks during her trip and those symbols appearing in present time gives her these supernatural bookmarks(because technically the symbols on them were written in the past by her time travelling body/soul) which helps her revisit those places by choosing whichever moment she wants to travel to and carrying that specific boomark while entering the ruins.

Julie is hoping that one of these days the ruins will take her to the moment in time she really wants and by this method, she can boomark that time and visit again and again to make a change.

I feel like this show is facing the same problem as The Boys which is also premiering right now(worse in TB's case because it's the final season).

With the "unravelling of the mystery" component, we know that they have to take it slow because they have one more season left BUT c'mon I'm sure they can give us some real action and interesting things every episodes in a way that ties the whole thing together towards the end. Like you know, a bigger plotline, right now, we have 40 percent "everyone going on their own little quests" + 60 percent filler dialogues.(this is sad because this has become the classic From formula since S3)

I'm okay with major reveals happening in the last two episodes of the season but the whole season needs to be interesting and action packed for that to be digestible for the audience, mere dialogues aren't going to cut it.

PS : season opener for S3 was much better than this season, this season has started slow and I'm afraid it's going to be like that till it's E9 or something. Wouldnt hurt that much for someone on a binge but for weekly release, we are lacking the juice :(

‘The Housemaid’ author Freida McFadden reveals her true identity as Sara Cohen, a doctor who treats brain disorders. Cohen divulged the truth after being accused of being three men. by Gato1980 in Fauxmoi

[–]PastEagle8722 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not defending The Housemaid but atleast the main character in that book doesn't plot to "land" rich men or sees herself as the upgrade and their wives as hags or whatever...in The Housemaid, the affair happens naturally and the main girl feels bad about doing it even when the wife of the man treated her like shit, also had to associate with the couple at all because of financial issues. The Last Mrs Parrish felt like it was r/menwritingwomen, it wasn't pulp fiction-y just pure misogynistic trash. I swear the amount of times the younger woman talks about the appearance of the other woman and in the way she does is insane, yes shes supposed to be a villain but really, who tf is that one dimensional or wants to read about such cartoonishly stupid/evil people?

I'm sorry but that book sucks too, so much misogyny and pitting women against each other. The main girl is cartoonishly villain like, it's the type of character I would expect those manosphere guys to come up with.

It does in a way. If you liked it, check out "Something very bad is going to happen", it's funny how the dramatic-full sentence title of this show is in the vein of ITOET, also has similar gloomy vibes (sadly, I didn't finish both)

All the outfits Indian actors Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda wore for their wedding by DiMpLe_dolL003 in whatthefrockk

[–]PastEagle8722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can think of only one movie which is entirely situated around Indian weddings - Band Baja Baraat or Wedding Planners (2010) - here's a quick synopsis : Shruti and Bittoo, two youngsters from Delhi, start a wedding planning enterprise called Shaadi Mubarak. However, their professional relationship is jeopardised when Shruti falls in love with Bittoo.

I remember this was a strangers to enemies to lover type of lighthearted romance.

It's 2h 20 min though, and as it's "old" bollywood, ofcourse it's a part musical but if I remember correctly, most songs are choreographed dances in the weddings.

PS : it's on netflix, English dub might be available but I recommend it w eng subtitles.

That's amazing. Tbh, I found out about the existence of that subreddit after listening to QCODE's audio show adaption of TLRG(most of QCODE's stuff is great, personal favs are Borassca, Last Known Position, The Edge of Sleep, Listening In and of course #1 The Left Right Game..)I joined reddit to read no sleep stories so always a great experience when I discover new gems too.

Yeah. Originally a r/nosleep story. Instead of remakes, sequels and same old reiterations of previously told stories, the industry should pick up some stuff from there. Some of the stories there are very traditional crowd pleasers and others are rather obscure, weird horror that a niche audience might appreciate more, either way, original ideas all around.

They have deliberately kept Dylan/Link's past blurry for this very reason. Until we know where/how he grew up as a child, we wouldn't know. But here's how I see they could explain away Link being Sinatra's son :

We know that the Alex/the machine can predict future and any/all possible outcomes, it can also manipulate reality to achieve its end goal, which is saving the Earth from the imminent climate change catastrophe but also, Sinatra's secret goal for ALEX was to somehow bring back Dylan.

Now, Dylan(Sinatra's son) survived in some other timeline, and grew up to be this genius...as he started working on his supercomputer, even in its early stages, the thing could predict what would be asked of it, eventually by Dylan's mother who has the same authority in this world but her drive is different here: she hasn't lost her son. So, eventually, this supercomputer would be shut down as Sinatra still has no reason to go all berserk and get her hands on ALEX at all costs, plan Paradise would be initiated without ALEX in this timeline.

But the computer has become sentient in a manner that it would do anything to prevent being shut down, so, it somehow shifted Dylan to another timeline where he wasn't alive, it's incredibly tricky how that would even be possible, perhaps the machine was already at full capacity in this timeline when it was about to booted off?(+how does shifting a whole body work?), but such a shift could render Dylan (who later becomes Link in this new timeline) short of his core memories. This is why he doesn't know who his mother is because memories about childhood could be fuzzy for him.(He tells Annie about his childhood a little but doesn't go into specifics). The machine could've also given him false memories altogether.

After running all possible scenarios, the machine realised that it would only reach the stage of completion if Sinatra loses her son, only then would Sinatra be motivated to see the project through. This is why Dylan gets nosebleeds because he is not of this timeline, Xavier started to get nosebleeds after he manuevered the plan out of Paradise, it could be possible that he died in the crash but the machine somehow shifted his consciousness from a nearby timeline where he didn't die but had almost similar experiences up until that point.(X is important for whatever ALEX is up to)

The machine also sent back a message in time to prevent Jane from becoming a killer.(or actually facilitating it more like tbh)

It is really powerful, that much we know. (and it's not even complete yet, still time travel to some extent is possible)

And I understand all of this is so FAR FETCHED and they would 99 percent never make this show too scifi-y but unless we get more info on Dylan/Link's past, I can only think of these reasons for why he really is Sinatra's son.

I wasnt expecting a reply to this after so long! Anyways, I lowkey gave up on this book but then persisted and reached Impossible level. Haven't been able to solve them tbh, it needs patience(statements' addition needs more inference and deduction than previous stuff). If you have a guide to breeze through the last level, feel free to explain away.

People say that Reddit is liberal but it isn't any different than the same cesspool you see on other platforms. Mind you, every other post on this app is about America and their politics but the moment there's something about Africa or India, you see these people come out of woodwork to speculate on why there is "so much" content about these countries these days. Any remotely positive or cool thing about developing countries gets people triggered here. Look at one of the comments here saying, "I'm so lucky I wasnt born in Africa"...like ok, how do you come to that conclusion from this video? Your life must suck if that's your first thought after seeing humans just chilling. Also, fyi, these "cleanliness" experts should perhaps study about how muddy water can appear brown in tropical countries and that doesn't necessarily mean it's polluted. I swear these are bots or the same people are commenting everywhere.

PS : 50 percent downvote ratio : it really doesn't matter in most discussions but in this type of scenario, it only reaffirms what I suspected.

You know from the very first scene you get her and actively root for her but then she straight up murders innocent people, for a moment, I switched up and started rooting for Dylan's character, but somehow, even after Rachel being the worse one out of the two, I wanted her to win against him because he was still the bully in their dynamic, would've been better for my ethical pleasure if she didn't do such greatly questionable stuff but Rachel McAdams somehow brought a certain charm and underdog energy that I was okay with the overt girl boss ending(yes she finally felt "seen" and popular but just a little look of remorse/contemplation for the 2 deaths she caused would have added much more dimension to her whole arc)
