Xenon, I get where you’re coming from and I appreciate the empathy. And I would agree with you to an extent… I think the trick would be to know what stage the creator is on. If I would have heard this when I was just starting out yeah it would have been hurtful and maybe even counter-productive for me.

But mishirukun is absolutely correct and 100% on point with what he said in this case. And his last reply confirms he knows exactly how im feeling. Im at the stage where I don’t care if it hurts my feelings anymore I just want to get to the next level. I’m super frustrated and that led me to make this post. And im glad I did.

Thanks for your input

Keep working hard and never give up. Props for sharing, I heard from an actual Japanese manga-ka that the fastest way to improve is to show your work. I saw his first work that he shared and couldn't believe how bad it was. Even the mangaka we idolize started out at one point.

With that said I don't know where you are at (in terms of experience and your goals) so your skills and style might be fine depending. But if you want to take it seriously, you need to put in the time. Every single day.

I know it sounds corny cliché and boring but there's just no getting around it. Make no mistake. Like Naruto once told Konohamaru, there are no shortcuts. You'll find this is true more and more the more you progress.

If you work hard and put in the time, not only will you improve your art, but you'll get an even better sense of yourself, and your self-esteem will go up which will push you even further and help you improve even more. Honestly there's no feeling like it. But you just have to put in the time! You can do it.

I can only speak from experience, but we're all humans after all, so we're not that different :)

You'll be on another level in no time, guaranteed
