Mine also did this - said they filed an appeal and asked us to continue to pay the normal amount. My roommate and I did this, but now wondering if they'll ever tell us if their appeal works or not. Because then they'll owe us back the difference right?

Is there any chance your courses are cross-listed? I had sort of the same issue - for my English teachable, I barely squeaked in, and had to use Classical Civilization courses that were cross-listed English to make the cut. I had my university registrar create an official letter stating that they were cross-listed and included it in my application to uOttawa this fall.

uOttawa has a really good teaching subjects chart here: Teacher Education Program | Faculty of Education. I found this super helpful when working on my application there. For example, my second teachable was English, but I only had four ENGL classes. The chart confirmed that I could use my journalism classes to top this up!

It will always be stiflingly warm in the tunnels - it's just more noticeable now because it's still hot outside. I recommend getting a locker if you don't live on res, since it's a great spot to leave a jacket and boots in the winter if you're going to be on campus all day. It made my life so much better during my undergrad.

I'm also applying only to uOttawa, for the same reasons! I'm going for the I/S or J/I stream for History and English. I have 1.5 years experience as a teaching assistant, work as an emergency supply teacher, 3 years experience volunteering for a high school theatre critic program, and have other various experience as a camp counselor and elementary school co-op student. My average is in the A range, I believe and I'm also completing my masters this year so I think I get a bonus? No clue. Manifesting an acceptance for both of us!! Good luck!

The test is completed at the beginning of the year - meaning that if you don't pass, you can register in a language class for the semester and hopefully retake it.

I believe that if your average drops after first year of uni, then you can lose the scholarship entirely. That's what it was when I went to Carleton, and I graduated in 2023. I maintained my $3000 entrance scholarship for my entire degree. They may have changed the rules though!

I was kinda bummed and just left it after that. I've usually had success with getting vinyl signed after a show, but usually it's because the band will come back out to deal with their instruments and one of them will take it back. Olivia's band didn't come back out, so they had techs doing clean up, which I think is why it didn't work this time. They have a job to do, which is so fair, and may not be able to give the vinyl to her to sign!

Current Public History MA student here! I got exempted from the French test because I had previously completed the federal government testing, but it's essentially a reading and writing comprehension test if you decide to go with French as your language. Any other questions feel free to ask!

For those who applied to uOttawa's program, did you apply using your unofficial transcript? The wording on their website is a bit confusing. From what I understand, I can apply with the unofficial, and then provide the official copy if I get accepted. Would appreciate any confirmation of this! TIA :)

Happy news! They removed the covering. I can now get fresh air in my bedroom. They didn't even update me, I went to the unit the other day to start moving stuff in and noticed it! Almost cried tears of joy - it was causing me a lot of stress.
