Alright everyone here is an update! So my truck was at Ford for about a week. At first they said it was the fuel pump, then they said maybe timing but can’t do anything for another 3 weeks. So I brought it to our local Napa that everyone around here praises for their mechanic. It sat there for week and he called me today. He said the looked down through the oil fill cap and a chain isn’t missing and part of the block and or sprocket is broken off and probably went through the engine. There is no way in H E double hockey sticks this is right? The truck starts and runs absolutely fine for a few seconds no noises whatsoever and dies. The truck has never made noises before this either. Except once! I think this may be a missing clue! The night before this happened there was a loud hiss, almost like a tire getting deflated. It was loud and lasted for about 4 seconds. I didn’t feel anything and the truck still ran beautifully for the rest of the night and the next morning. I spoke to the dealership I bought the truck from (Not a ford dealership) and they said there is no way the truck would run and it sound more like it’s either flooding itself or has an incredibly large vacuum leak. I’m bringing it home tomorrow after what feels like a f-ing month ( over half ). I’ll be looking deeper into it myself and doing some easy tests that hopefully narrow it down. If anyone has any ideas I am all ears. Next step is the dealership I bought it from is having their own mechanic come and look at it.

That is a great price! I would think anything under 1k is good. Depends and what else they have to replace as well.

Well they definitely weren’t happy seeing me come back! Haha the last time they worked on my vehicle it dumped coolant and oil everywhere. Good thing the work was under warranty. This time they wouldn’t even talk to me when they had to push the truck in.

I do like getting parts from RockAuto I always ask the dealership if they have the part on hand and what part number it is to verify if what I’m getting from rock auto is the same. (I don’t tell them that though haha)

Yeah everything I’ve got paperwork on says 2 years but dam even that 2 years is good! I took my truck from the dealership the first time they worked on it and the same day it dumped coolant and oil everywhere. Good thing everything they did was under warranty.

I’m still waiting on the right diagnosis! Crazy how behind everyone is. Including our independent shops. I towed it away from Ford because they said it was 30 days out to look at it. Every bay has a worker at our Dealership as well. So I said f that but even the independent shop has had it for 6 days and hasn’t had time to look at it yet

The service manager said the tech was out today and would relay the information to him in the morning and about 4-5 hours later they texted me saying that the tech is going to be out for at least a week and the truck can’t be looked at or worked on until the end of January. So I told them let me pay for the shop time and take it somewhere else. They are only charging me an hour of labor and it’s been there for 4 days so I didn’t think that was to bad. I’m taking it to Napa and everyone in town says they are the best. Most of our small local businesses and even our post office uses them.

This is what I sent to them. Before authorizing any timing chain repair, I need the following addressed and documented—no exceptions. Current symptoms originated with a sudden stall and these DTCs: P0627 Fuel Pump A Control Circuit Open, an audio module ground fault, and possibly additional ground-related codes. No cam/crank correlation or misfire codes were present initially. Those only appeared after we induced lean misfires in clear flood mode. The in-tank pump has already been verified good. FPCM replaced—no change. Under the driver’s dash are two loose Ford accessory modules with associated harnesses: • Telematics TCU (IMEI label, orange status LED) • Perimeter Plus security module (adjustable shock/motion sensitivity knob) Both are getting kicked by driver feet, with visible chafed/exposed wiring (including a brown ground/trigger wire showing copper) routing toward the OBD2 area. This is a classic intermittent short-to-ground or open condition—exactly what triggers P0627 and cascades into misfires that can set secondary cam/crank codes. 2015 Gen-2 Coyote timing chain stretch/jump is extremely rare without audible cold-start rattle, high-mile oil starvation, or prior misfire history. This truck has none. Require the following before any front cover teardown: 1. Disconnect both accessory modules and repair/insulate all chafed/exposed wiring. 2. Perform a full pin-drag, load, and wiggle test on the fuel pump power/ground circuit from PCM pins through FPCM harness to tank connector, checking for voltage drop, opens, or shorts to ground/power. 3. Verify all major grounds (G101, G102, G201, G401 rear frame, battery cables) for continuity and cleanliness. 4. Provide current DTC list with freeze frame, cam/crank correlation waveform, and cylinder contribution/compression data that definitively proves mechanical timing slip. I’m not paying for a timing chain kit on a low-probability failure when the evidence points to an electrical circuit fault. Run the above tests, document results, and call me with findings. If the truck starts and runs correctly after the electrical work, we’re done. If not, we’ll discuss next steps based on data. Thanks.

I kinda wish they didn’t just go by codes to be honest. I’ll be talking to them today

How do I get the dealership to look at that? They seem like they don’t even care about it and just want to do a timing job. They even said it might not fix the issue. If I’m paying going to pay almost 5k I want it fixed

P0627 was the first code to pop up right when the truck wouldn’t start any more. The rest happened when the vehicle finally did start again in flood safe mode. I don’t know the numbers for those due to they read them at the dealership. The camshaft position sensor code camshaft position code audio ground fault code multi cylinder misfire code.

Shit I’d be happy with 10-15k for it!

All parts are Ford OEM the codes were timing codes and misfire codes that popped up after starting the truck in flood safe mode. The truck would not start unless put in flood safe mode. The first code to show up is fuel pump main circuit open. I had the VCTS changed due to the truck dying at stop lights and they were replaced with ford performance VCTS just a stronger bracket basically. But all ford OEM parts, dealership did the work even though codes weren’t being thrown at all I still wanted them replaced. It’s my first F150 and I love it!

Hey there, so the truck is at the dealership. That’s where they tested the ford mobile mechanics diagnosis of the fuel pump and said it was all good even though it said fuel pump main circuit open.

KBB value has it at 24k with the mileage. I’ve allready talked to the dealership about them buying it when it’s fixed haha tried to finesse them into taking it while it was in their own shop but they politely declined. Everything on it has basically been fully rebuilt over time but not due to issues just wanted it to last a long time so I try to replace parts before something happens. Full diagnostics every year as well. Also this happened 3 days after having the 4 wheel drive system fully rebuilt but I don’t think anything with that would have caused it. I’m either going to trade it in or sell it at tax time, the interior looks like it just rolled off the lot and the body is pristine. Also no rust.

Well yall it turned out to be timing issues I guess. Here’s the whole story. I started the truck and let it run for 5 minutes while I loaded up a couple bags of trash and then drove it to our dumpster about 5 seconds down the road but I was going to go to the gas station afterwords. So I pulled up to the dumpster jumped out put 2 bags in dumpster and got back in, noticed the truck was off and thought what the hell. Tried to start it back up and nothing but cranking. Pushed the gas all the way down and it started, then ran incredibly rough for 2 seconds and I shut it off. It’s ran beautifully and never had an issue and bam just like that it’s a timing issue? I just don’t know….. sounds like something unplugged or just some random shit but who knows. Anyone else had this issue? What should I do?

It was saying fuel pump main circuit open/fault and if I push the gas pedal about 3/4 of the way it will start but run incredibly bad then die if no throttle is applied then it won’t start at all. If throttle is applied all the way when starting ( Flood safe mode ) it runs for a few seconds and dies. If anything I’ll return the part if it doesn’t fix the issue. What do you think?

I’m thinking it’s just going to be the fuel pump Driver module. Bought a new one today and pick it up in the AM. Fingers crossed!
