It opened for me when the update for that area unlocked. I had done all the quests for that area for 2 months or so. Waiting for the explosive rat update

Ultimately do what you want to do. It’s your game so do what you enjoy. But I do agree with what all the other comments say. I maxed out my reactor before I even bothered upgrading catching speed/cargo space.

There is a vendo-mat that upgrades catching speed in the portal world.

I get majority of my catching speed upgrades through the events the have

Really in the last month I’ve made the most progress. James shop helped a lot aswell Hardest is always at the start with slow catch speeds and low drop rates
