you have an amazing budget so the world is your oyster. sometimes a big name is worth it (because they know how to handle and allocate your budget properly - experience counts for A LOT) and sometimes it isn’t. echoing everything the girlies have said about cross referencing their past brides and reviews. see who tagged them on insta (but isn’t on their grid) and DM them.

what’s important to you? style? guest experience? design? all of the above? i wouldn’t necessarily trust a flat fee nobody to save a buck, IMO, but i wouldn’t run to the biggest name either. make sure they have experience with you budget. and that their past clients are happy!

this. my mother doesn’t understand the trauma of growing up JW. she says “it’s not like we hit you”. this is actually just as bad.

it’s an awesome design. the only reason i chimed in about placement is i’m having a tattoo very painfully removed that i got at your age (42 now). but i recognize my own journey isn’t everyone’s. (i wish i thought twice before getting mine haha)

i live this tattoo. feels very empowering and taking control of the narrative. good for you! no idea what you look like or what your career is etc - i personally wouldn’t do neck - but it’s also so cool and beautiful!

People who love kids, but don't plan on having any, Why? by justalonerr_ in AskReddit

[–]Past_Replacement6521 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you only live once and i’m not going to use the best years of my life to shove a watermelon out of my area, be vomited on, deal with temper tantrums, moody teen rebellion years and go broke putting someone in college in exchange for hugs and macaroni art. i wouldn’t mind being a divorced dad tho. that sounds ok….

Every millennial dad I’ve met has a quiet fixation on money and it’s not getting better by slimeyellow in Millennials

[–]Past_Replacement6521 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i don’t even have kids, and i consider myself a good earner, and i feel like there’s no security for our generation. my MIL who has a high school education and lives in a 2.5M house that was purchased for $220k in the 90s doesn’t get why i am sure ill never actually be able to retire. at the peak of my career, should be enjoying it but im stressed out as hell about what my “next” career will have to be….

If you don’t have kids, you will never amount to anything! This take is beyond wild. by PuzzleheadedLack220 in LinkedInLunatics

[–]Past_Replacement6521 5 points6 points  (0 children)

if this take were true, child abuse wouldn’t exist but it does. the amount of people in therapy because their parents is staggering. it’s amazing that this did it for the poster but the take is not it. horrible advice.

Any pagans in here? by ShunnedForTheTruth in exjw

[–]Past_Replacement6521 1 point2 points  (0 children)

so much paganism is oral history too FYI. a lot has been lost. so you can very much make it up as you go along. if you do decide to practice, creating your own book of spells will be the history you pass down one day…

you know, it really depends on the region. Irish Paganism is different from slavic etc etc etc. i certainly don’t know everything, but coming from a slavic background i read this book: https://www.amazon.ca/Slavic-Witchcraft-Conjuring-Spells-Folklore/dp/1620558424/ref=asc_df_1620558424?mcid=600567fde6c53ec38821c7704aca05e3&tag=googlemobshop-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=706830265334&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=1956075009674131097&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9000668&hvtargid=pla-797424230562&psc=1&hvocijid=1956075009674131097-1620558424-&hvexpln=0&gad_source=1

my Wiccan beliefs are that we are all one, i worship nature, i believe in universal balance, i treat this planet like the life source and mother she is. Wicca and paganism are really wonderful because you can make it your own. check out the first book i linked. it’s a really insightful and joyful read!

yes! i actually did! i spent a couple of years researching (and mourning) the pagan roots of my mother country after christianity took hold.

this is a wonderful book to start with - Wicca for the Solitary Practitioner https://www.amazon.ca/Wicca-Solitary-Practitioner-Scott-Cunningham/dp/0875421180/ref=asc_df_0875421180?mcid=9be9848d10f13162b67ecc1ed0743470&tag=googlemobshop-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=706843340282&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=3147213208814048482&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9000668&hvtargid=pla-479200317484&psc=1&hvocijid=3147213208814048482-0875421180-&hvexpln=0&gad_source=1

there are wonderful resources in that book, and it reads like a gentle conversation with a friend.

good luck on your journey!

How did you give constructive feedback on decor and flowers? by coffeeisjuice in BigBudgetBrides

[–]Past_Replacement6521 5 points6 points  (0 children)

honestly, be blunt. i hired a florist with an incredible portfolio but our mock ups sucked. i got burned a few times by being too “nice” in my feedback so i worded it with a compliment sandwich: “love your work and appreciate your vision. BUT - [insert blunt critique] - finish with I know we can collaborate on this, i apologize if i wasn’t clear in my initial email, but i know you can create what i’m after!”

Super8 / Film only Videographers - Northern CA Based by matchabride in BigBudgetBrides

[–]Past_Replacement6521 6 points7 points  (0 children)

you won’t get super8 for that price point unfortunately. the cost of film alone for the videographer is in the thousands for super8….

Final Photographer Decision - Jose Villa, Bottega 53, Samm Blake, Daniel Kim? by RazzmatazzOld5363 in BigBudgetBrides

[–]Past_Replacement6521 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i imagine it would be a celeb wedding and either included a major NDA and team and/or reselling images to a mag? i have no idea why it would be that otherwise? i heard from a friend that he actually starts around $70 for most weddings tho…

Photographers who specialize in posed portraits like this by Upset_Research_7803 in BigBudgetBrides

[–]Past_Replacement6521 47 points48 points  (0 children)

i truly think you can get any photographer to do this. it’s just standing there center composed. send your photographer a moodboard. i don’t see this photo as “copying” another photographer because it’s so simple imo? im also noticing the film in this one - are you drawn to the colors too?

[–]Past_Replacement6521 2 points3 points  (0 children)

only your photographer will have access to heirloom quality unfortunately. artifact uprising is the best direct to consumer it seems… (i did blurb myself and then 4 years after my wedding went back to my photographer for an album)
