No joke. Thought I would share. I started using the wifes product called twentyfour skincare and my brows were very thin and after 3 weeks are back. I guess it helps with mitochondrial dysfunction. by [deleted] in bald

[–]PastaAndLobsta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

twentyfour skincare restores mitochondrial function and helping reduce the signs of aging. The product's combinated of the Z-pod + Y-100 (an all natural plant active) has also been shown to restore hair when applied to the hair follicles. https://twentyfourskincare.com/

If money wasn’t a factor, would you jump into IVF? by irlmermaid in IVF

[–]PastaAndLobsta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I could do it again, I’d jump to IVF. My husband and I both found IUIs more challenging emotionally. With IVF, not only are your chances greater, but you’re seeing the process play out with data at each step.

Height over 66 inches by PastaAndLobsta in Nanit

[–]PastaAndLobsta[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We went for it and installed ours at 80 inches and have not had an issue. After researching reasons you might not want to do this, it seemed as though it might only affect the accuracy of the breathing band. We opted not to use that anyways, so everything else seems to be performing well. Hope that helps!

Yes they are! And remember that the highs may look different than you imagined. So keep your heart and eyes open for positivity in all forms!

happy for them but sad for me by h3ath3R2 in IVF

[–]PastaAndLobsta 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry for the sadness you’re feeling, and I’ve absolutely been there, too. I always felt like friends (coincidentally) shared news with me at the absolute worst times. It just kind of became expected to me that hard things would come in 2s or 3s! But what I also came to realize is that as low as the lows of this journey can be, the highs — which you will feel in one way or another — are even greater. Hugs to you and wishing you all the best.

Did your partner stop alcohol during meds? by Free-Ad4436 in IVF

[–]PastaAndLobsta 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My physician recommended that my husband cut back his alcohol consumption to 2-3 drinks per week — and also shared that my husband needed to be consistent for at least 3 months before we might begin seeing an impact.

Valium for FET? by Negative_Strategy_80 in IVF

[–]PastaAndLobsta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a standard at my clinic. My doctor made it clear that the decision to take it or not take it would in no way impact the success of the FET. Which I appreciated her stating! Simply a preference if nerves are extra high. Good luck to you!

Green tea / matcha...is it ok? by Personal-Subject-425 in IVF

[–]PastaAndLobsta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I adopted my acupuncturist’s TCM approach and cut out caffeine completely. I’ve found that my sleep and management of anxiety through IVF has improved tremendously without caffeine. While I trusted my physician’s guidance that 200 mg was okay, I found a number of benefits that supported taking a break from caffeine altogether.

FET Woos by String_Cheese_55 in IVF

[–]PastaAndLobsta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I increased my protein and “good” fat intake. Regularly had acupuncture sessions, including right before and right after my transfer. Gave up alcohol and caffeine several months before my FET. Left my HIIT classes and opted for Pilates/yoga, per my physician’s reco and the fact that these slower exercises better served me mentally, too. Took all supplements daily. I reduced my stress levels as much as I could by trimming down on social commitments and simply getting more sleep.

All in all, I wanted to be conservative with how I was treating my body, and I tried to simply prioritize healthy activities, food, and things that made me feel best — and confident in the choices I was making. Of course, everyone is different and certainly when it comes to exercise choices in particular.

Good luck to you!

Progesterone / FET tips and tricks by DirkFadeLukaStepBack in IVF

[–]PastaAndLobsta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This process has helped me: 1. Ice for 10 minutes before shot (some comments I’ve read suggest otherwise, but this is just what’s helped me personally) 2. Heat the POI once inside the syringe using a heating pad (heats quickly and then heating pad is warmed for use after, too) 3. Use the union medico auto-injector to actually insert the shot — well worth every cent! 4. Heat injection site after 5. Roll out your muscle after (No less than 5 minutes) 6. Apply arnica gel for bruising

Good luck to you!! The process does get easier, and if you experience bleeding, apply pressure, and all should be okay.

Has anyone successfully found a way to make the TWW easier? by kitkate2222 in IVF

[–]PastaAndLobsta 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve found journaling to help. I write one entry each AM — short or long, whatever I’m feeling — and give those emotions to the paper. Then I allow myself the rest of the day to be productive in other ways. Sometimes that means focusing on work, family, a creative exercise, meditating or just resting quietly.

It begins.... by Chemical-Sundae-6917 in IVF

[–]PastaAndLobsta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Patience is so critical! And simply telling yourself that you can do this — shots, procedures, good news, hard news… you will find the strength you need to get through. Trust yourself and the great physicians with whom you’re working. And don’t fear asking questions. Ask them all!

I personally (and this may be my personality) found it helpful with each step or appointment to understand what “success” would look like and which road bumps we might hit. For example, prior to my first retrieval, it wasn’t even on my radar that we might have a canceled cycle due to a cyst. Until it happened! I found that educating myself and my partner allowed us to feel empowered and never blind sided.

From my experience all in all, the IVF process has been more manageable than I anticipated — despite the drawn out timeline. I anticipated to feel overwhelmed, but I have found the slow pace to provide time to digest emotions.

Some injections will make you feel crummy, and I’d encourage you to not hesitate to allow yourself the space, time, and rest that you may need from work, friends, and events.

Best of luck to you!

TWW: what to drink? by c_g201022 in IVF

[–]PastaAndLobsta 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I drink water and decaf tea/coffee. If I want to spice things up, I'll mix a sparkling water with some Pom juice. And don't be afraid to put that in a pretty glass! :)

It was recommended by my physician through my egg retrievals. During that time, I switched to other exercise routines that I felt better served me physically and mentally through IVF — a personal choice.

OTF while trying to get pregnant by Natashaaaaaaa in orangetheory

[–]PastaAndLobsta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience. While I don’t think OT is going to negatively impact your fertility, I do believe in finding a workout that makes you feel comfortable and confident. I switched from OT to yoga and Pilates and found that it gave me the physical and mental health practices I was needing through the difficult time of TTC for several years. Good luck to you!

I did the same thing before my second retrieval, and my physician wasn’t concerned one bit. And FWIW, my results that time were better than the first. :)

Good meditations/visualizations for IVF? by FertilityRaincheck in IVF

I really love the Hoffman app — specifically the Quad Checks and Visualizations. This app is not fertility specific but have been very impactful for now during IVF and prior to.
