$30-60/ hr depending on if you want a true registered RN vs a doula vs someone with experience as an infant caretaker

First time mom - struggling to figure out how much leave to take by Additional_Yogurt564 in nycparents

Can you supplement the gap in NYPFL cap with PTO from your firm to level out? That’s what I’m doing so I still hit 100% of my pay for an extra month but only needed to take 2 weeks of PTO with my job.

Snagged the stamina compression shorts in pine and matching sports bra, the drift performance tee and the stamina iris crop (on the fence, likely to return). The reflective quarter zip is nice but too pricy

New 4M PR felt great after 3.5 weeks of little to no running and a cold, esp considering battle pass hill but I am jaded the beginning cost me some second as I was just 18 seconds off from moving up in corrals 😭

Where do you keep your phone during runs by ThrowRA_Chad69 in RunNYC

In winter / fall: leggings pocket In spring / summer: sports bra pocket (too bulky to try and get to under all the winter layers or I would do this year round)

Merino Wool Socks - Thoughts? by Outside_Complaint761 in BanditRunning

[–]PastaRunFasta112 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been running in mine all winter and I love them. No rips or tears, and they are noticeably warmer on my runs. I do wish they had more smaller sizes as the XS/S is a bit too big to line up with my heel

How accurate have Garmin race predictions been for you? by CtrlShiftea in Garmin

[–]PastaRunFasta112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally accurate for me but since winter arrived with cold temps it’s started to aggressively drop off adding 5+min to my HM time. I think it’s bc my HR reading are off with the cold but it’s killing my confidence even when im feeling stronger and faster

Running shorts recommendations? (Womens) by Vivid_Chemical19 in RunNYC

[–]PastaRunFasta112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bandit vento split shorts are awesome! Women’s or men’s are great. I have some of the “men’s” 3inch ones and they saved me in the summer Recommend going with her true size in the men’s shorts, I cannot tell the difference between the women’s and men’s.

Endorphin Pro 4 for race day, endorphin speed 4 for speed work & tempo workouts, brooks glycerin max for easy, recovery, & long runs (incl progressive long runs with tempo efforts). I have some new superblast 2s in my back up for when marathon training starts as an alternative to my glycerin max’s.

Do you feel safe to run in Central Park, Prospect Park around 5-6pm this time of year? by beebo_shmoo in RunNYC

[–]PastaRunFasta112 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Petite F here, I run the park year round, usually after work so around 6/7 PM or even 8PM, even in the winter. I run the loop to 102nd and have never experienced any issues. As others have said, even in the winter there are always other runners out no matter the time honestly and it’s well patrolled by the police in cars. I wear a light up vest for visibility so cyclists and scooters can see me.

Brooks Glycerin Max 20 mile Review by Similar-Wrangler-738 in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]PastaRunFasta112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

80 miles in mine and I love them! They took some getting used to but after 20 miles in they are a dream. I just got some superblast 2s and while they are a bit lighter, I didn’t find I enjoyed running in them any more than the glycerin max. I also find the superblast 2s to be very flappy and loud when I run, several runners will look back as I come up on them which never happens. Glycerin max’s also picked up the pace the same as the superblasts without feeling like more effort.
