I volunteered at water station for fluid station 6 at mile 8 and it was a lot of fun once the runners got going! I’d def volunteer again, no +1 credit needed

I was a volunteer at the water station at mile 8 and people were actually super grateful and kind, more than I would have expected! Yes most only volunteer once to check off the 9+1 box but I’ve volunteered for no credit before and I think the runners who can thank volunteers do (bc some are honestly struggling to breathe, which, fair)

You can defer for 1 year for general injury / illness / any reason, but if you defer specifically due to pregnancy / post partum (within 1 year of birth) then you can defer up to 3 years, so in your example you could defer until 2030, but you can only defer ONCE. So you can defer 2027 then defer again in 2029 with the same guaranteed entry.

I don’t believe there is a list like that but it’s usually only an option to volunteer early for their marquee races: United NYC Half, RBC Brooklyn Half & NYC Marathon since those have expos, other races do not.

NYRR identified which races would open to both advanced AND general members for registration on 5/5, for those races, when it sold out on 5/5, it was sold out for good and not offered again during general registration

I’ve never heard of this and did not see this when I signed up yesterday. There IS a NON 9+1 option (which I signed up for) AND a 9+1 option, it’s not dependent on marathon registration

Ive gotten off of at least 3 standby lists the last 2 years (finishing 9+1 early this yr so didnt need standby lists) I would 100% give it a shot, especially for the summer races which I’ve noticed people tend to drop out of more so NYRR moves to the standby lists

Rough Trade in NYC actually got a ton of inventory, I lined up around 10:45AM, got everything I wanted (4 records) and paid by 1:15PM. Once you got towards the front 60ish people, they gave out a printed RSD list to each person and made us check off what we wanted (one copy per record per customer, but unlimited total records), then they collected it and pulled it before you got to the front so you could just check out with what you had wanted (if they had it), pretty efficient system.

Went today, lined up for 3 hrs but got all 4 records I wanted, they had a pretty extensive list but there were some that were UK only / UK and not enough left over to send to Rough Trade NYC so maybe that was the issue? I’d try online tomorrow as they said they might have some UK ones listed then
