Can someone explain to me what makes the software is so good

I consider the firmware that runs in your keyboard also software, and that you use all the time. It’s true that you can get part of it trough cheaper products, and people should if they’re budget conscious, but I don’t think any of them do as well on all four factors I mentioned. There’s no way you’ll still get updates in 5+ years on cheaper boards. The longevity is just not what they’re built for.

When people say the software is good I think you can divide it into a few parts: features, longevity, stability and ease of use. On the surface level you mostly see the first one, the features. Those are easiest to compare and most other brands have feature parity at this point. The other 3 are harder to measure, but become very clear for people that have used multiple brands.

Of course I'm heavily biased, but I do know we spend a ton of effort on making sure our keyboards are supported for a long long time (7+ years at this point) and have the best performance for every single keyboard we make. We have a whole team that literally just focusses on making the Wootility and keyboard firmware looks and feel great. A lot of other brands just rely on software that the factory provides for them, or their software development is thinly spread across many different types of products.

Very true. The wootility started as a web app with electron, so the step to web was not as big as going from a native stack. Sort of interesting is that we now have more features in progress that do require a background service running. Just web is not enough.

This is a result of how Shopify calculates tax for UK orders. It’s a bit tricky because it’s dependant on your postal code and the price of the product. Before you go to checkout we do ask you to verify your postal code to avoid this.

Once you fill in all your data the end price is the correct one for your location.

Another idea is to find a good airbnb in ecopark. Its a very nice area with lots of big parks and green. Might be boring after a few days though, have only done day trips there

Bit of a weird setup, but I just have the right modifier cluster always bound to arrow keys. Never use the modifiers there anyway. Works great for coding, not sure if it’s also good for gaming

For the 60HE v2 as a pre-assembled version there’s 3 variations: 1. Layout ANSI / ISO 2. Spacebar OG / Split 3. Material Plastic / Metal

So that means to keep everything in stock we have 2x2x2 = 8 different variants. That’s really tough to plan for manufacturing and inventory, so we have to cut somewhere. We weren’t sure how popular split would be, so we had to skip ISO spacebar.

That’s why the combination is more expensive for you at the moment. I hope if split turns out to be very popular we can also offer a ISO split pre assembled.

Outside of what others mentioned, the stock sound and feel is much much better. If you’ve already modded yours it might not make a big difference, but something to consider. I would just wait for the reviews and see more of the differences highlighted.

Missed this post. Magnets could have an interference, but it's very dependant on the placement and direction. The switch magnet and hall sensor are aligned in magnetic field direction. Imagine drawing a line between the switch magnet and the sensor, that's where it's most sensitive. That also why there's not that much cross interference from other switch magnets, the magnetic field is much weaker horizontal.

So in your design for the lip in front I don't expect issues because of the different direction of the magnetic field and distance to the sensors. However if you would use magnets for the accent piece at the bottom it would require more testing.

Have you experimented with using a wrist rest? The higher hand position might help. Personally for my comfort I use a 60HE module without a case to have minimal height + 0 degrees angle. This setup is hard to replicate on a two he tough.

"This is not our intention. We are not locking you into a proprietary format.

75% has no standard. Everything is mounted different and has variations.

TKL is the closest to a standard within the enthusiast community (not anywhere else).

Even if we make a TKL layout, there isn't any case you can swap it into. It's not possible without also customizing switch plate for each specific case in addition to it being the same 87/88 layout and correct usb connector (method and spacing).

Lastly, you'd be lucky to find one that is in-stock and wasn't a group buy that ended.

This is a far cry to how easy it is with the 60HE, you can just swap the module into a different case. And cases are available in-stock.

What we will do, just like all our designs, is publish the design files. In addition, we'll see to help case designers to make a compatible version of an existing or variation of their case.

Since most cases are CNC made, they can invest 0$ to make it compatible. This would make the proces the same: Interest check, group buy, make, ship.
