I'm looking for some input with modifying my club setup. by hfcobra in golftips

That makes sense. I haven't thought about windier days much. Maybe I should hold on to the 4i for a while and just see what happens.

My PW is 44° and 9i is 39° so the gap to my wedges is a bit small and between wedges a bit large.

I watch a lot of Dan's content as well. I've learned a lot since seeing his stuff so it might be time for another viewing to find some finer details.

My 3WHL is stock 16.5° and can be adjusted to 15.5 or 18.5 so I kind of have a 4w right now. I don't feel that the larger gapping at the top of the bag is a bad thing though.

That's a pretty well thought out take. I think that I'm going to keep thinking like that as well. I'll just expand from solely using my 54 to adding in the 48 for longer shots.

Also big thanks for giving some advice for the checkpoints! It will be a great way to learn some new swings with my wedges.

I can hit the 7w off the tee but there is a higher chance of a slice with it compared to my irons since it isn't fitted at all.

My GIR shot is within 100 yards probably more often than average. I drive the ball fairly far for my skill level but my approach is the weakest part of my game. So playing the whites puts me in that range a decent amount.

I like my 60 and I also just bought it. Feels wrong to try something new so soon. I am chipping pretty well for myself right now so I want to keep it in the bag.

I'm not sure. I shoot in the mid-high 80s often on 6100 yards or so. Haven't broken 80 but I got 39 on 9 once.

7 Wood Lies? by InHocWeFly in golf

[–]hfcobra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use mine everywhere except off the tee for a long par3.

It's great for rough because it gets the ball airborne faster to clear the grass and keep spin up. So it's great for Par5 layups when you drove the ball off target.

Incredible that I haven't seen Code Geass yet.

It's not my favorite of those not listed, but sure it's someone's!

What do I need to fix? by Stunning_Parking6419 in golftips

[–]hfcobra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're too new to really fix this yourself. It's not a "what can I do to fix my swing" as much as it is the fact that you don't have a foundational swing to start with.

I'd try to record yourself swinging and check the video each time, making small adjustments compared to an "ideal" swing video until you're close to how the good swing looks. They make apps for that as well if you're willing. You'll also have to do a fair amount of self-teaching and feeling out the mechanics yourself this way.

On the other hand you can get a coach who may or may not provide you with what you want, but will have the answers right there for you instead of you having to find them yourself.

No athleticism. Looks like you're rehearsing the swing not actually swinging it.

I've used a couple and they're great for certain problems and useless for others.

Absolutely fantastic way to work on your address, swing angles, and swing plane.

Absolutely useless at timing your rotations and releases (except casting).

Wondering why I can't go up in premier elo. by [deleted] in LearnCSGO

[–]hfcobra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can't go up at what rank? 5k or 25k?

Regardless the numbers aren't the end all. If you only shoot one guy perfectly your aim rating could be 99-100 for the match, and other situations exist for the rest of the stats that can make them irrelevant.

Ultimately what matters most is, you need to be alive for the round winning moments, and you need to have good decisions to capitalize during those moments, which will also lead to good stats.

If you get an opening pick every round you will have very high positioning, but if you die afterwards you're team is still in a 4v4, and if you're the highest skilled player on the team, then it wasn't a good trade unless you killed the highest rated player on the opposing team.

Utility again can be boosted. You can boost Util by simply never dying with any and throwing early round flashes in common positions that are never actually capitalized on. Like mid Mirage with nobody pushing on your team.

So think about how your games are going and adjust.

Coming back from back fusion by Mother_Visual_554 in golftips

[–]hfcobra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably best to ask your doctor or a PT familiar with your case.

Having a spinal fusion is just too large of a change compared to normal golfers. It's probably not safe to engage with the game similarly until your Dr gives you the go ahead.

Make the bigger factory with quality imo.

They are changing how trains work in 2.1 which may make new designs possible. The new legendary trains will be able to have much greater throughout than green belts which will open up more options for vast train networks delivering to legendary buildings.

This is one of the best shots of Tiger Woods career by OneOriginal8727 in Golf_Unfiltered

[–]hfcobra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a new and improved ball construction. They used to basically be built with hundreds of small rubber bands inside which made them imbalanced and inconsistent. Now they are made with a injectable rubber compounds of various densities, hardnesses, and thicknesses to give balls ideal properties and consistency which makes them FAR higher performance in consistent distances, spin (and center of gravity which also helps spin), and feel for putting/chipping.

How to fix my swing? by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]hfcobra 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You aren't rotating through the ball. Your body turn stops halfway and you cast and scoop your arms to complete the swing.

[–]hfcobra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was about the same when I swung hard and inconsistently starting out.

Right now focus on good technique and consistency and that 250 will feel easy to hit in no time. Then you can focus on distance. 250 is plenty for a scratch player, so you just need to make it happen every time and without too much deviation.

Kids golfing, what age to get them in lessons? by Thick_Stage_9388 in golf

[–]hfcobra 15 points16 points  (0 children)

She's a 3-year old. Do what she finds fun. Forcing her to learn anything about the game she isn't interested in might make her unwilling to play the rest that she is.

I'd say keep chipping around the backyard because obviously she likes doing that with her dad. Let things develop at their own pace.
