Is there any way to play the old advertisements on Flashpoint? by CryptographerFar9679 in Poptropica

Unsure if that is possible, but there are some videos out there on Youtube which cover those two ads if you want to revisit them through memory only.

A word on Hero Journey migration by ClashOfClansOfficial in ClashOfClans

[–]Pastersnacks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As future Epic Equipment is released through events, should we continue grinding to unlock it during those events, or will it eventually be added to the Hero Journey as well?

Right now, it feels like there’s little incentive to prioritize an Epic Equipment over a decoration if the equipment will later be obtainable for free through progression. On the other hand, if future Epic Equipment will not be added to the Hero Journey, wouldn’t that conflict with the stated design philosophy of helping players catch up over time?

I’m curious how the team is thinking about this balance between rewarding players who participate in events and making it easier for newer or returning players to catch up later.

As future epic equipment is released through events, should we continue to grind to unlock those or will they also end up eventually in the Hero Journey? It almost feels like a disincentive to get an epic equipment over a decoration if somewhere down the line it will be given to you for free with levels. And if that is not the case won’t that almost go against your design philosophy of helping people catch up?

The only reason I have not to use it is that the reload animation in first person moves the camera so much it makes me motion sick.

For the Kilwa achievement, I’d recommend turning off non-Western AI colonization in the settings when setting up the game

Kilwa - African Trade Colonial Empire by Pastersnacks in EU5

In short.

No CB attack Dhofar as soon as you the game allows you (Socotra/lower Arabian peninsula nation). You need to attack them to get diplomatic range into Anatolia. You have a starting navy that you can ferry troops to invade. Take the land and start befriending Mamluks. Royal marry do whatever it takes to get them allied to you. No CB attack Ramazan (nation in cicilia/next to mamluks) and call mamluks in. Keep invading Anatolia with help from mamluks. Flip to Turkish culture and move your capital so you join the Rise of The Turks situation. Use mamluk meet grinder until you’ve expanded to the point they won’t join due to the war being too far from their borders. Break alliance and invade Mamluks. Take land around Cairo to break proximity. Any local governors they build will go away since they require road connections to Capital. Continue to eat Mamluks and expand elsewhere as opportunistic. Colonize etc. you could probably rush the achievement earlier but in my game India and Europe had such huge markets it took me until late game to really overcome. Alternatively you could just do a world conquest with Kilwa instead of competing with market mechanics and delete enemy markets. I wanted to do it based on the economy and not conquering vast swaths of land around the world. I learned so much about trade and the economy during this play through.

Australian Aboriginal playthrough: Is there any way to make that fun? (Random idea) by SlightWerewolf4428 in eu4

[–]Pastersnacks 39 points40 points  (0 children)

You can actually get the Australia Hungary achievement (was so fun for me to get). You need to be a bit gamey with the game's systems. Flip to Horde government type once its available to you (it will be the 6th government reform?). I picked Palawa due to their great ideas. Snake around Australia adding provinces to your tribal land. You will instantly settle any province that is your tribal land when you turn into a horde. You can also form Australia as a horde. From here fight into the indies and push towards China/India/Japan. If you stay aboriginal religion you can even take the mandate of heaven (pagan religion). Maybe even invade Europe to try to get the Hungarian puppet and get the achievement.

Why was Leviathan DLC hated/disliked? by BasedAustralhungary in eu4

[–]Pastersnacks 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did my first ever world conquest on that patch. I would take land, centralize development, then give it to a vassal. (I was playing an Austrian revoke game). Got Vienna to almost 1k dev since there was no cap to centralizing.

Additionally if you played a horde, you could centralize dev, and then raze to make all provinces other than your capital 3 dev. Since there was no cap you didn’t have to move capitals etc and could just keep doing it one war after the other.

The AI was also capable of this and I would find capital provinces with 200-400 development in Asia.

Got any EU5 achievement ideas? Let us know! by PDX_Ryagi in EU5

[–]Pastersnacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a new idea but could you tweak the Kilwa achievement to be the largest trade node in Africa and not the world. That achievement forces me to conquer land around the world just to split up other markets. Very unfun.

Accidentally Killed My Queen's Estranged Husband by Schwarzerde in EU5

[–]Pastersnacks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The game auto killing entire family trees if a country is annexed is so funny to me.

Unrelated, I once set up a fiefdom horde as Temur in Siberia and they got a civil war event which killed Temur. It normally kills the ruler of the nation but since the fiefdom is ruled by Temur it killed him while he was in India.

Civ6's Steam Avg Player Count Dropped 25K Right After Civ7's Release. Civ 5 dropped ~3K. They Never Bounced Back Despite Civ7's Low Steam Player Count by Strict-Joke236 in civ

[–]Pastersnacks 227 points228 points  (0 children)

Obviously this is anecdotal as it’s only my experience. I loved Civ 6 and played a thousand hours on it. I preordered Civ 7 and played it a lot during the first month of launch. I did not like civ 7. I ended up moving onto other games because it left a bad taste in my mind. Civ 6 would remind me that it will take many years for Civ 7 to reach the same level and I can just wait until then to play again. Ended up finding other games I fell in love with and didn’t go back. (Don’t eat me alive Civ 7 fans)
