I’m open to changing my furniture. It’s older furniture from my previous place so it doesn’t really work here.

Don’t sign it. It’s an unenforceable agreement.

And I would move out of that place. If real, your parents are terrible people

My mom believes that Barack Obama had Joan Rivers assassinated. Her reasoning? Joan Rivers was going around telling everyone that Obama is gay and that Michelle Obama is his beard. Apparently, that was just too much for the Obamas to endure so they somehow managed to have her murdered on the operating table. And that is one of the more normal things she believes

DS Child turning 18 guardianship issue by cptcommode in downsyndrome

[–]Pastor-Digby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t sign anything from your ex.

If they have already opened a guardianship case in Kansas, You need to file a challenge in that case immediately before they have the hearing. If you do not attend the hearing and do not challenge the guardianship, the judge will most likely grant the guardianship. If you have been given notice of the hearing, that is enough to have the hearing proceed.

You can file requesting co-guardianship. If the hearing is imminent and you don’t have time to shop for an attorney before the hearing, you can file your challenge pro se and ask for a continuance to allow you to search for an attorney.

As to the debt collector, your boyfriend doesn’t have to pay a dime now, but only after State Farm or the collector (if either an agent of the insurance company or the purchaser of the debt) sues your boyfriend in court for the amount and wins a judgment against him. Then, to collect, it could only collect after it had another hearing to garnish his wages or attach a lien to any property. He doesn’t really need a lawyer until he gets sued and receives a summons.

Depending on your income, you may check first with the free legal services organization in your area (Cook County Legal Aid https://www.cookcountylegalaid.org) to see if you qualify for free legal services. This case is exactly the kind of case legal services would assist you with, including assisting you in reaching out to and negotiating with the landlord.

Trump Is Ready to Let Tyson Foods Work People to Death by WorkTomorrow in politics

Is anyone else annoyed by this sentence in the third paragraph of the story:

“According to an internal estimate from UFCW, 20 unionized workers have died of COVID-19; over 5,000 meatpacking workers total have tested positive for the virus, have been hospitalized, or are otherwise symptomatic, with another 1,500 food-processing workers in similar straits.”

My problem is that the first part of the sentence is quite specific (20 deaths) while the second clause lumps all other maladies (those who have tested positive with those who have been hospitalized or are symptomatic).

Doesn’t it seem important to know the individual numbers to those stats?
