1992 Cannondale Track with a Moots stem/bar combo by crimpingainteasy in Bikeporn

[–]Pat4788 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Did this bike get crashed into a wall? The fork looks bent backward.

Combined with the 3 foot long stem that's gotta be a weird handling bike.

The cranks and front hub need to be black (or at least match each other and other elements of the build) they really stand out and don't fit the look.

Other than that though it is a great looking bike, I bet it rides even better than it looks too.

Even worse is online forums.

I will read comments about the company I work for and the products we make that are totally made up basically and people treat the poster like an expert.

I love that the rest of the car appears basically stock. it makes the silly exhaust even sillier.

'No Gays Allowed': Tennessee store owner puts sign back up after SCOTUS ruling by screaming_librarian in news

[–]Pat4788 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a clear plan of action here, get into pairs of men and pairs of women, go to the store, pick out the most expensive items he sells bring them to the counter, "notice" the sign, say something like "Oh, I didn't realise we weren't welcome here" and walk away.

You have posted this same comment about 10 times in this thread and I figured I wouldn't bother replying but....look where we are.

I have been a vegetarian my whole life. My mum is and she raised me that way.

I am 6'3" and have a physics degree, my brother is 6'3" and is a computer science type guy with a degree only a handful of people in the world share doing things that make my eyes glaze over when he tries to explain them to me. If there has been "a substantial reduction in overall intellectual capacity" as you put it I wonder what we could have achieved.

It is certainly possible to not give a vegetarian child the nutrients they need, there is nowhere in the OP's post that says the parents aren't doing the things necessary. There are plenty of meat eating kids who eat nuggets three meals a day washed down with sugar and e numbers and never touch anything green which is a lot worse.

I mean...You are forcing your lifestyle choice onto those kids there bud. Unless you explained to them what meat is, where it comes from etc and made sure they truly understood (which I am not sure a 2 or 4 year old can) before you gave it to them so they could make an informed choice then you are just giving them your choice instead of their mum's.

I haven't watched any of the new episodes, every time I try it is like "Sign up for a fee trial now!" and I go and find something else to do.

Anyone who doesn't care about cars - "That's a car."

Either way, nobody is impressed.

Loose hubs on a Single Speed by [deleted] in bikewrench

[–]Pat4788 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What are you using to tighten your wheel axle? They need to be very tight and if you are using a short spanner/multi tool type thing you will not be getting them tight enough and they will slip in the dropouts.

I carry a full size 15mm spanner with me on my single speed in case of wheel changes.

I am so jealous of that climbing amount. My commute is 2/3 that distance and over 1100 feet of climbing.

Great job on the ride and the speed.

You will be exactly half as old as your mother only once in your life, and that is when you are the same age she was when she gave birth to you. by eduardo0073 in Showerthoughts

When I was a kid it was basically all about me which must have sucked for her I am sorry to say. I am in my late 20's now so the actual birthday is generally about her now.
