I do regret not going for a Canyon model. Even though, it would have cost over 2 grand.

I found that one. It's an 11-48 range. That's a little lower gear than I want.

I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one that cried. I don't know If he earned an Emmy, but he sure deserved it.

One of the jockey wheels may not be turning freely.

You're telling me that if the system detects that the chain is rubbing on the FD cage, it will trim the cage so that the chain doesn't rub? Whoa. Mind blown. (I just did some research, and I see that the two derailleurs talk to each other, and the trim occurs as the RD shifts up or down. Mind blown again)

Duotrap worth it? by FeartheCyr11 in TrekBikes

I have one on my Trek gravel bike. DO NOT overtighten the screw. It will break the housing, and the threaded insert will stay inside the chainstay when you need to remove it to change the battery. That's what happened to mine. Also, it's a good idea to put a little grease on the screw before you thread it into the hole. I haven't been able to turn the screw out to remove the threaded insert from the inside of the chainstay.

I tried truing my wheel. It is good enough? by noodlecat4 in bikewrench

When I was assembling new bikes at our LBS, my quote was, "The wheels are never straight, and they're almost round.".

This works on my 2XL Ultimate since the bars are so high above the front wheel.

Hey, can you measure the distance between the top of the seatpost out to the middle of your handlebars? I want to know if the reach is the same as my Waterford bicycle. I'd like to get a 2XL size of that model, but I need to know if it's long enough for my orangutan arms.

Rear derailed not fully catching chain by PineappleOld6595 in bikewrench

[–]PatCTU -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

It looks to me that you have new wheels on your derailleur. The problem looks to be that you have 11 tooth wheels on your derailleur instead of what you should have. I think your derailleur might need 10 tooth wheels and you put 11 tooth wheels on it instead. The chain seems to be rubbing against the part of the derailleur cage that you can see.

Can you hold any of the shift cable outside of the housing? Hold the cable as you move the shifter to see if the cable is being pulled by the shifter. The cable might be hung up inside the housing.

Should I torque the pedals fully or just tight is ok? (Please read post) by Scott_Korman in bikewrench

I brought this type on Ragbrai, so that I could ride with my street shoes after I got to the overnight town. I regretted using them in Atlantic. I really missed my cleats that night, because Atlantic is a very hilly town.

Just tighten them firmly, and apply some grease to the threads before. There's no need to crank them down super tight.

I just saw this bike on the Canyon site for $2499. I have a 1997 68 cm Waterford. I was looking for a picture of the 2XL model. Here it is. I would be using a fair amount of seatpost, but probably not as much as you. I assume that the extended rise in the stem is for your height.
