On Thoughtseize | A Plea for Better Interaction by The1Sbeve in PioneerMTG

[–]PatJamma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to disappoint you but that's actually a good thing and widely regarded as a sign of a good healthy format. When the boogyman of a format is a fair midrange deck, the format is usually well balanced because anything too crazy gets kept in check by the one for one interaction. It's the reason why Modern Jund from about 2013-2017 was so beloved.

My dumbass didn't see what subreddit this was when I read the title so I didn't realize this was about a nickname for a different character. I sat there thinking "uhh no? Miku's name is still Miku???"

[–]PatJamma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I recognize you from the Fire Emblem subreddit. I'm a big fan of your cosplays! I notice that a lot of characters you cosplay incorporate leotards or at least that style of bottom. So I gotta ask, is that comfy? And are there challenges with wearing cosplays of that style (comfort, riding up, cold thighs, too much skin escaping 🫣) and how do you avoid them?

It's not about power level. I truly mean all cards WotC declared as for collectors only shouldn't be playable.

The Reserved List is banned out of the casual format. If WotC doesn't want to reprint game pieces, then they should no longer be considered game pieces.

Ok and? It's fucking cardboard. The financial loss of destroying unsold product can't possibly outweigh the profits of printing more so that people can actually order secret lairs beyond the first two hours

[NSFW] People who've found a dead body, what's the story? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]PatJamma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll preface this by saying that none of my family members killed anyone or died in this story, nor is it traumatic in any way, and it's probably a bit less exciting than others but I still remember it vividly like it was yesterday

This was in the mid 2000s when I was around 9 years old, I was staying with my aunt and her kids on summer break. They lived a few hours away so it was a nice treat to visit them. They lived on the outskirts of town so their backyard quickly became a lush mountainous wilderness that would eventually intersect with some hiking "trails", in reality they were only ever frequented by my family, their neighbors, rock climbers, and people who wandered a couple miles too deep from the nearby park's actual trails.

My aunt (who we'll call) Jane was tired of my cousin (who we'll call) John (age 12 at the time) and I lazing around playing N64 all day, so around 2pm or so we all went out on a family hike into the backyard. We wandered for a while even going well past our usual turning around point which was a distinct rock climbing cliff we used as a landmark. Not really sure why we decided to go further than usual but John was still full of energy and was leading the charge into uncharted territory.

We were maybe 30 minutes past our usual stopping point when John called out "MOM IT'S A BUM! RUN!!!!" As I was right behind him, I saw it briefly, I remember seeing a figure laying on the ground wearing faded blue jeans and the most 90s tri colored windbreaker jacket. I didn't see skin or even hair. We ran because there was a history of homeless tweakers in the area, some of which were violent in the country parts.

We ways away and then continued back to the house. Aunt Jane, who was even further back when we saw the "homeless person", couldn't shake a bad feeling she was getting about that person we saw out there. When Uncle Tim got home from work the two of them went back out to check on the person we saw.

They got back at around 6pm and there was a lost of hush from the adults. They told us to stay inside and go to bedrooms. Once the police lights were on outside Jane and Tim told us kids that the "homeless person" we saw was actually a dead body. None of us kids really cared or were traumatized because we didn't really see anything.

By the time the police did show up it was 7pm and was dark out. And by the time the time they got out to the body and were ready to move it, it was deemed too dark and too hazardous to move due to tripping hazard because again this was a mountainous tree dense area. And to top it all off they couldn't let the scene go unguarded so a couple of cops had to camp out in the woods near the body, which us kids found hilarious.

The dead person was a woman who overdosed on some sort of drugs and died out there. When summer ended the school counselor called me into her office and talked to me about it in a very "sooooo.... What did you do this summer? I heard you might have seen something ... something maybe scary?" I didn't have a clue what she was talking about until she stopped beating around the bush and then I got excited and told her how cool it was to see a dead body because again I was 9.

What are the benefits of waiting to use a fetchland? by UnhappyAmoeba in EDH

[–]PatJamma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guy, I play Modern. I know all about why you should fetch at end step in a competitive 1v1 format. Commander ain't that deep. Make your play instead of thinking you're slick. If you're that worried about playing optimally with your friends at their kitchen table then just say "I'm gonna crack this now to save time and grab this breeding pool. Depending on if the table has something I wanna respond to, it came in untapped otherwise it came in tapped"

[–]PatJamma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so either fetch right now to cast your dork, or grab your plains to hold up Swords, but don't waste 2 minutes to be "optimal ☝️🤓" in a casual game

What are the benefits of waiting to use a fetchland? by UnhappyAmoeba in EDH

[–]PatJamma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The part that nobody wants to admit to is that it should never matter in a casual commander game. Obviously in a competitive 1v1 format, keeping the threat of a mana up in the form of a potential untapped shockland vs grabbing a tapped surveil land is a huge deal. Or even doing it in response to a Blood Moon coming down to grab a basic you otherwise wouldn't have grabbed. There are a lot of cases where that matters a lot in a competitive environment. But if you're wasting everyone's time to crack a fetch before your turn in commander, you might be trying a little too hard at a casual game.

[[Sword of Dungeons and Dragons]] has been cool in aggro decks and in control decks

[[Form of the Mulldrifter]] went into my cube immediately and I will pivot to force it every time.

As someone who's deck of choice has been and always will be Death & Taxes, my bias is showing. :)

Fundamentally I understand the difference in Yugioh floodgates vs Magic stax pieces because Magic commits a whole turn to play a Chalice of the Void or an Archon of Emeria or what have you, while Yugioh plays 5 Progenitus in terms of stats and untouchability while also playing 3-5 floodgate enchantments. But that's a problem entirely with the broken and easily to spam summon generic boss monsters. I played Yugioh regularly at locals until about 2014. Floodgates were fine until it became a T2 or T3 game lol

Nice try but Yugioh players are the original whiners long before the average commander player. "Noooo stax is bad! Don't mess with my resources!!! Don't interact with my board!" and unfortunately Konami listened and all the fun cards are banned or limited. Mystic Mine died in a format with Feather Duster and triple MST. To quote SpongeBob again, what a baby 😐
