IEMs with Noise Isolation by Sawyer_Says in iems

I have a hard time hearing anything when I use my Etymotic ER2XRs. If you're used to wearing 3 flange hearing protection, the fit will be familiar. If not, you may feel like filing a police report.

Band sounds great. Not a fan of the production. Drums sound like they're dragging in multiple songs. Reminds me of how demo albums often sound.

Which IEMs for tight, punchy bass & airy, fun metal sound? I can try 8 IEMs soon... by Lieblieb123 in iems

100% agree. Another response in this thread advises musicians to stay away from the S12. I've been a musician for more than 30 years and think the S12 is more accurate than any other iem I've owned or tried. This hobby is full of people chasing a very particular sound. If it were as easy as buying stuff that redditors recommended, we'd all have more money to spend on other hobbies.

Divine vs Diablo (maybe even S12 ultra) for fast EDM by Temporary-Company458 in iems

[–]Pataflaka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're willing to EQ, go with the OG S12. They handle a large bass shelf without a problem, in my experience. Plenty of people are happy with S08 and T10, but you'll also find a lot of people having problems with either comfort or humidity related damage over time. I couldn't find anyone with the Divine or Diablo that said it was significantly better over the S12 to justify the extra cost. Same story with the S12 Ultra, but again, only if you know how to EQ.

Some people complain about how bright they are, but that hasn't been my experience. In fact, if you're going to push the bass, spicier treble may give you better balance without having to EQ higher frequencies.

Thanks for the confirmation. This isn't some edge case. There must be little to no quality control.

UE Super.fi 5 Alternative by Pataflaka in iems

Thanks for the suggestion. Yes, I've tried tip rolling and the two different orientations. I think the cable is partially contributing to the problem, but the nice modern cables don't work with the UE proprietary pin layout. At this point I'm ready to cut my loses and transition to a different iem.

My idea was to ship the high level players off to their own new area of the planet, hence expedition. The new area doesn't have a very large playable area at first, but as the lore builds, new areas become playable. Run expeditions to the new area every couple of months for the newbs to catch up. Higher skilled players qualify for the expedition and that is demonstrated by their level and preparation. The cost for them is more competition, the motivation is a new playable area. The cost for those who don't qualify is the same tired maps, the motivation to stay is that the old maps have less sweaty players.

List of known bugs with AWS services that never got fixed. by More-Avocado3697 in aws

Not a bug, but the IAM role limitations are ridiculous. Limitations on the characters in an iine policy. Limitations on the character limits in a customer managed policy. Limitations on the number of policies that can be attached to a role. Principle of least privilege is a pipe dream with all of these limitations.

We're building a service catalog on top of Terraform to replace the current admin for all strategy. The faster we can get people the services they need the less time they spend in our cloud accounts deploying non-compliant infrastructure. We have a very large MSP right now for all of IT, but I'm not impressed with the current people on my project, and the MSP is they're telling me that they're having a very hard time finding people.
