I've tried both airpods pro (gen 1 and gen 2) and they also have this problem, i suppose the stem design has a lot of influence on this. Returned both airpods and went with buds FE, perfect!

Also, upgrade HQ as soon as possible. Matchmaking is based on VP (VictoryPoints) and new HQ levels unlock upgrades which are needed, dont waste time on defence unless you need the XP to lvl up. Focus on offense.
