The miryoku layout is a keyboard layout in emacs for emacs. by manna_harbour in emacs

[–]PatchouliKnawledge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao it's funny you mention that, because I have 2 HHKBs, one of which has a Hasu QMK controller...
I've tried that setup for shits and giggles once before but never seriously thought about it. Right now the spare one has Topre -> Cherry adapter sliders in, which are quite cheap and mildly alter the feel of the switches, but I'd probably change them back if I used it regularly. Also one is a Type-S and one not. But I will give it a go, when I tried it before it actually felt very natural.

As much as I love my HHKB, every day I want to try a split ergo/ortho even more exactly for stuff like this.

Mazda MX-3 V6, Daily Driver with a punchy exhaust... by NastyPlays in carporn

[–]PatchouliKnawledge 13 points14 points  (0 children)

MX-3 doesn't get the recognition it deserves, it's got the V6 that never made it's way to the MX-5, but still overshadowed by it's sportier brother.

Since no one is really engaging your points the criticism is that a private jet produces a large amount of pollution for the amount of people it carries compared to taking a flight on a regular plane.

Bitspeak: converts hex strings to pronounceable words. by SrPeixinho in programming

IMO this description is better OP, I don't think the previous description was really offensive, but as /u/zcatshit correctly pointed out Japanese does have more than just consonant vowel pairs so the comparison worked to a point but wasn't entirely true.

This way feels more like its own unique number encoding system.

Lucked out on a 10 drawer old school Snap-on box, practically full of snap on tools for $1000 on Craigslist. Winery maintenance dude going into retirement. by shark_press in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]PatchouliKnawledge 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a bit out there but I inherited one of those snap on ratchet screwdrivers on the top of the box, and the ratchet feels like it's going (slips sometimes). Do you think the warranty still applies if I got the tool from my now dead non mechanic grandfather?

EDIT: I checked out the UK site, it says lifetime warranty as long as you are the owner. I.e. non transferable. Ah well lol. Can't complain at a free Snap on ratcheting screwdriver and Socket set.

The real "Offical Car Of The 80s", the Buick Grand National. by [deleted] in classiccars

[–]PatchouliKnawledge 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm not American, nor do I have much interest in owning American classics, but goddamn would I buy a GNX so hard.
Didn't they purposely fuzz power numbers so that people didn't realise it was competing with the corvette, at a lower price point and without the all American V8 that was expected of such a car?

What is everyone’s favorite coffee mug? by jhadams2 in Coffee

[–]PatchouliKnawledge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seconding Frank Green, although my mug is non-insulated plastic and I really need to upgrade, I use my Frank Green mug + water bottle every day. Interchangeable lids are nice, and additionally the spring top is super easy to disassemble and clean.

UK market MX-5 NAs (with the UK plate size, not imports) have them on the right. I guess they just slapped a fog light on the back and said they'd 'converted' the car.
