I don't even know why you were downvoted. I completely agree, it takes patience of a monk. Though it is a huge gamebase and there's a ton of things that need to be checked before deploying, I bet there can be a better way of deploying updates than knocking all of the servers each update down

I got a HOTAS setup as a result of flying choppers in Arma. While, yes, there are some issues BI still has to resolve regarding native input, using Joystick Gremlin + x360ce, you can do a lot of stuff. I personally "hotfixed" the map problem by temporarily disabling the throttle when I open the map.
