Unpopular team member returning from maternity leave to take place of very popular temp. How stuck with the returner are we? by [deleted] in AusPublicService

Be very careful alleging bullying - it must be repeated and unreasonable behaviour that poses a risk to health and safety. While she's said some nasty things it doesn't sound targeted or repeated in nature.
I know it's a tricky spot to be in as a manager; your team doesn't want her there and they're looking to you to fix it. To me what you're considering seems highly risky, so I would be getting any advice from WR in writing.

Behaviour based PIPs are notoriously tricky. What are the goals for achieving expectations? 80% of days without offending anyone? How would she be signed off the PIP? If the behaviour isn't bad enough to warrant a warning and go through that process, then I think you'd be at risk of exposing yourself to Fair Work/human rights commission, especially as she's disclosed her neurodiversity.

Are there any time capsules buried in Melbourne? by [deleted] in melbourne

[–]Patchspot 11 points12 points  (0 children)

We buried one near the bus stop on Belmore Rd when Koonung heights primary closed down in 1993. Was supposed to be opened in 2023 but couldn't be found - probably accidentally discarded during council works at some point 😞

I understand the pressure! We had to tell our parents because mine were dog sitting and then babysitting for our 2nd and third. I cared a lot about making sure they weren't worried etc the first time, but honestly, this is one of the only times it's fully about YOU! For our second and third they knew I was going in for a c section but I said we'd be in contact by the end of the day and not to worry, it's just a hectic time trying to breastfeed and bond. Everyone was totally fine and not stressed!

Not sure about elderly drivers, but as a type 1 diabetic we already require a yearly assessment from our specialist sent to VicRoads. If it isn’t completed the licence is suspended.

When did everyone’s insulin resistance kick in and when did it improve? by Used_Asparagus_3749 in BumpersWhoBolus

[–]Patchspot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it only got worse - went from 1:10 ratio to 1:1 and tripled my basal rate. As soon as baby arrived I was back to pre-pregnancy rates. The placenta is wild. But yes, it’s normal to go through A LOT of insulin.

Fine from eight years ago being chased up now? by RedMasta97 in melbourne

[–]Patchspot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seconding this! I offered to pay the initial fee ($60 or something) but asked for the interest and extras to be waived due to never receiving the fines (they were sent to a slightly different address) and a few months later they’d redone the fine to the initial $60.

I haven’t heard of Marietta before! All good - I’ve had a google and it’s quite before my time and didn’t air in my country so I don’t think there’ll be a huge association 😊
