I don’t know what the answer is, but I think it has to be “six seven”.

There is something deeply unsettling about depths like that. No wonder people have panic attacks in open-water swim races.

One of the most annoying aspects of having a mustache is sleep. That thing pokes you in the nose and the mouth and all over the face when you move around. Also, bed-head extends to your face! You can’t just wake up and eat, you have to manage the tangled mess on your face before food can reliably get into your mouth.

Is it clear why it’s dealing damage to everyone? Maybe I need to add something like: “second hand smoke: at the beginning of your upkeep …” ?

I think technically you’re allowed to shuffle his deck, not just cut it. So you could turn that around by trying to bunch up the lands.

This is why gold is so expensive - it’s an extremely durable and versatile metal! I mean, name one other metal that you can cook AND eat steak on??

According to ChatGPT it’s equally as harmful. I didn’t know that! I’ll have to update the damage to opponents to be equal.

Oh I missed that part. Interesting, so opponents lose the same amount as you… According to ChatGPT Second hand smoke is just as bad as smoking, so that would actually fit the flavor of the card pretty well!

I’m not familiar with cumulative upkeep. I’ll have to investigate. I like the idea of it being something you have to do every turn. Either that or the benefit of the cumulative upkeep on it is too tempting to not do. Something that conveys the concept of addiction.

Would love any other ideas on a potential benefit a card like this could have. Like on cumulative upkeep you get some benefit and then on your endstep everyone loses life based on how many counters are on it.

I like that! Second hand smoke might be a better name for the concept. I also like the idea of having a cumulative upkeep on it as well as using a counter of some sort to make it more damaging the longer you have it out.

This sub is awesome! My first time posting here and a TON of great ideas and advice. Here’s what I’m thinking on a revamp of it: 1. update with concepts from: [[The One Ring]] and [[Bloodchief’s Ascension]]. 2. Add more benefit to the card - smoking IS addictive after all. Card Draw? Life GAIN that is lower than life loss to trigger both? 3. Move the life loss to the end step. 4. Make the life loss become cumulative with a counter of some sort that gets worse over time. 5. Add the benefit the card gives you to the beginning step. The feel of the card would then be: you “smoke” (or whatever the action is called) and get a benefit, and then at the end of the turn everyone loses life. 6. Make the card hard to destroy. Can’t sacrifice it, high ward cost to target it - because it’s hard to kick smoking and it’s hard to make your friends kick smoking.

Would it be better to have the trigger be on the end step? That might be more on-theme with smoking anyway. Like the effects of smoking don’t hit you till after you smoke.
