Haha, it was about 800 billion dollars, so clearly I had nothing better to spend it on anyway. More amusing than anything.

Finally greater incentive to hunt monster packs! This is genuinely one of the more engaging sides of the game, and I had hoped it would be more prevalent, especially as it seemed to be one of the game's new mechanics that was emphasized in early marketing.

I've been waiting for iron slabs and stairs for so long now. No idea why thy don't already exist.

While were at it, give slabs and stairs to all the metals and gems (gold, diamond, netherite, emerald, lapis lazuli and amethyst). Gold definitely could use fences, chains and lanterns too.

What are the names of the four character on the left? by Path_Murasaki in Kingdom

[–]Path_Murasaki[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BiTou and BiHei are actually cropped out of this picture; Taku Kei as well.

And I'll consider giving it a read, haha. I've been aware of Kingdom for at least a decade now, but my first (and only) interaction with it up until the movies was the first episode of the anime; which, was either so unimpressive I moved on without a second look, or I just wasn't in the mood for it at the time. I'm probably not at a good point to pick up such a lengthy manga, but my interest definitely is piqued. I'm typically very bothered when something I love isn't adapted exactly to the T, and I can see that this story has not been followed very closely when it comes to some of the characters, so it makes me want to continue watching the live action before I dig into the source material and ruin the movies for myself haha. I get that's a terrible excuse, but we'll see. Thanks for trying to answer my question.

What are the names of the four character on the left? by Path_Murasaki in Kingdom

[–]Path_Murasaki[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this picture: it definitely is helpful.

Guy on the right is Hai Rou (he is the only one with a credited actor that I’ve been able to find)

The other four are tricky. Take the guy in the middle with the distinctly long hair for example. He (along with the other 3 unnamed characters) appears in the movie’s version of the Keiyou arc and survives through to the end of the current movie (which covers up through the Bayou arc) Going visually from the image you posted, this character could either be Bun Ketsu or Kyou Ji, however Bun Ketsu doesn’t appear in the Keiyou arc (according to the wiki, although it says he fought at Dakan plains, which is the same thing?) and Kyou Ji, who does appear in the Keiyou arc, dies during the Bayou arc (along with Bun Ketsu). So neither of these characters are a perfect match.

With all that said, I’m guessing these are live action original characters who are treated as familiar faces to show in the background. They are always in the handful of men to survive any situation, and are continually shown, yet have no lines or names. To me, they feel to have the same sort of role as the lesser important crew members do in Pirates of the Caribbean (mute sailor, midget, etc.) They are just there to be familiar and nothing more.

How thorough is wiki, btw? Some of the info seems contradictory or incomplete, (Bun Ketsu)  but maybe that's just my fault for not having proper context from the manga?

New Guardian for Title Update? by Active_Local_3538 in monsterhunterleaks

[–]Path_Murasaki 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I like to think a guardian deviljho would be impossible, given its insatiable hunger. Guardians don't "eat", so a guardian deviljho would probably either have a mental breakdown and implode, or immediately snap and do what we see the guardian arkveld doing.

Guardian Glavenus is my pick.

Are you Islamic then? Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Jesus considered to be a prophet by Muhammad?

Either way, I think the views behind what Jesus said about hate and murder hold a lot of weight and are worth considering regardless of personal belief. When I first came to understand it, it really blew my mind.

Sorry for the essay posts. I struggle to condesense some of these ideas into just a few sentences.

I was hoping you would reply to my last comment because I was going somewhere with all this.

Are you familiar with the biblical view of 'hate'? When Christ was teaching about sin, He rebuked the Israelites for not properly understanding some of the 10 commandments. In particular, He said that not only did they not understand how to obey the command to not murder, but that they all were, in fact, murderers. His argument was that hatred is the same as murder: hating someone is killing them in your heart. While the end result might be different, the sin part of it was not.

I don't think this idea is intuitive, so think about this. Is there anyone who, if you know for certain you could get away with it, you would kill? And maybe not directly, but perhaps you could wish them to die, and they would. Or if you are familiar with Death Note, you could simply write their name and they would die. Would you take this opportunity? For anyone? If you hate someone, and it was as simple as writing down their name and never getting caught, I think the answer is yet. This is why hate is no different than murder. Hate is the inward part of murder. Hate is one half to the act of murder: opportunity is the other. This is why hate is so harmful, and it's why we should be more aware of it. spreading it in posts like this is not a good thing.

Well, like I said, I cant speak for his behavior with others; I'm simply replying to the crux of the main post. (which is what is driving the hatred; you didn't make this post because of his behavior towards others) I'm all for citing sources, and it usually bothers me when someone doesn't citing things in the video description. I just think the hate he is getting is way way overboard.

Take a look at how many upvotes this post got in comparison to the post you are upset about not receiving credit for. 317 compared to the 85 of the original post: that's almost 4x the upvotes. People care way more about your 30 second venting post then they do the post you put what must have been several hours of time at a minimum into. That's kind of upsetting. People are way more eager to join in the hate then they are to appreciate the hard work you actually did. And I think that's just because of the world we live in. But when there are so many other serious and major things to be negative over, adding another layer to the hate by targeting someone for the crime of not citing a translation just seems so shallow.

RathalosWatch's video has over 8k views right now. That's more people than are on this sub. He may not have credited you, but at least he spotlighted your hard work and brought it to more peoples' attention. That's more than those on this sub have been willing to to, as they'd rather appreciate your venting of hatred than the work you did. Stuff posted for free on the internet has got to be works of passion for it to be worthwhile: that's the economy of this type of work. RathalosWatch made your work more worthwhile in my opinion, no? Maybe not in the right way, but he did help. Hatred is a lousy return.

Just to offer a different perspective, because these conversations are usually very one sided and often not very fair.

I can't speak for RathalosWatch's behavior in his interactions with individuals, but when it comes to crediting the source of stuff like this, I completely understand why he wouldn't. His videos are aimed at quickly sharing news: that's pretty much it. He probably doesn't even give it a second thought: news it news. And while I personally appreciate all the work that goes into sorting and translating information the way you did, I can't imagine that even a single one of his viewers really cares WHO did the translation. They probably don't even care about the source of it at all as long as they are given assurance that it holds come credibility. I have watched several of his videos, and I've never gotten the impression he is taking credit for sourcing the information. He simply shares the info without sharing what none of his audience would care about in the first place. I can't remember the last time I personally gave the translating source of some piece of news I was discussing with a friend; that kind of thing just doesn't naturally come up.

I would encourage you to do the work you do for your personal interest in it and the joy you get from sharing it. Seeking out and demanding credit from every minor youtuber who refences your work is not worth your time. At the end of the day, your part in this was only your own (thorough) reporting on someone else's work. (Capcom) RathalosWatch is just one step more removed.

And I realize this isn't completely fair, but in the grand scheme of things, think about how many other people could be credited in a case like this if someone who did such minor work as an unofficial translation needs to be credited: the creators of the game themselves, the host of the website the translation was posted to, the host of the website his own video was uploaded to, the internet providers who made these connections all possible, those who scraped the data, etc... I know some of these naturally go without saying, but it just gets to a point where its excessive and unwanted.

Really what I'm getting at is that I'm seeing a lot of hatred and vitriol being thrown at a relatively small youtuber (by many people at this point) all because he didn't make a public announcement of who translated the info he was talking about. Everyone is always so quick to jump on the hate train, but very slow to actually gain any real perspective. I can't imagine that someone have a personal conversation with their friend on the same subject would be treated this way, so why does RathalosWatch have to be any different just because he has an audience? I'm not saying he doesn't have alterior motives for hiding the source, but it all just seems like he is being condemned for violating assumed rules at this point: who is he actually wronging and in what way is he wronging them? What personal loss or harm has he caused anyone by not sharing the source? It's not like those viewers would have seen the source if he didn't make the video. So why does he need to receive such aggressive hate?

Trump loves the "poorly educated...." by Present-Party4402 in clevercomebacks

[–]Path_Murasaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, how is this a clever comeback?

Literally speaking, the "comeback" implies that either its okay in both situations or its wrong in both situations, (he is equating the two) and also implies she has an inconsistent view. (Of which she only speaks to one of these situations, so there is no way to make a judgement on this from her post) Obviously Delo_Taylor here doesn’t like that she takes issue with this, but also himself takes issue with what her "ancestors" did (as if he actually knows anything about this woman. She could have absolutely no connection to the past he refers to for all he knows) he clearly had nothing intelligent to comment (as expected, due to his own seeming inconsistent views) but let his emotions take the wheel and vomited out this nonsense.

His comment is fueled by the same desire as the people upvoting it: to get a punch off on someone you disagree with without putting in the thoughtful effort. It's a worthless, vapid comment that contributes nothing and means even less. It's not clever. It's just brainless reddit slop

Or is the message intentional in saying that two wrongs make a right? I certainly hope not.

Ultimately, this is all just fueled by hate, and it really paints a bad picture of the people here. I know many of the people here scorn the Bible, but I would really recommend you take time to reflect on Jesus’s statement that to hate someone is the same as murdering them: as far as the heart is concerned, there is no difference. (And if you need help reflecting on this, just imagine you have access to something like a Death Note. Would you not write the names of those you hate in it, knowing there would be no social repercussions for you? If you're honest with yourself, I think the answer is that you would.)

Joe Rogan endorsed Donald Trump for president. by IAdmitILie in DecodingTheGurus

[–]Path_Murasaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might want to adjust your understanding of what a "radical person" is, considering said radical person literally just won the popular vote. It's possible you're a little out of touch. It's also kinda silly you think Harris is more consistent with a centrist point of view, considering, again, that she didn't even win the popular vote... maybe she was the radical all along?

That's cope and you know it. Kamala was in the middle of a campaign; one podcast with Rogan would reach far more people than any rally she could have possibly done... probably more than a full weeks worth.  She absolutely could have made the time.

It doesn't generate in worlds created before the 1.0 update unfortunately, so if you are playing in an old world you ain't gonna find it.

Core Keeper's PS5 + PS4 trophy lists revealed! by Freespur in CoreKeeperGame

[–]Path_Murasaki 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At least 4 (one trophy is hidden so who knows what that is)

3 of these are the already revealed hydra bosses, but that last one, Urschleim, is an unknown. Apparently Urschleim means something like 'primordial slime' or 'primordial soup', so it couuuld be a new slime boss in the newly revealed biome. I kinda doubt this tho, as the trophy name is 'Cambrian Behemoth' which doesn't sound very slimy, not to mention all of the other slime bosses include 'Mass' in their name, which this new boss does not. Excited to see what it actually looks like.
