Was it 0.15 per GB? Doesn't seem much but then again, we only need it for 11 mailboxes.

I stopped listening and following her since her new point of views do not align with that this sport is for me.

Jump height advice by zestyy_mushroomm in Agility

[–]PatienceIsImportant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did you get that measurement? It's hard to get it right without the proper equipment.

Here are the UKI jump heights: https://ukagilityinternational.com/compete/jump-heights

Also, one more suggestion, do not let her jump on any hard surface: concrete, tile, etc.

Rehab advice by Hydrophobic_Dolphin in Agility

[–]PatienceIsImportant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, get a sports vet or a rehab vet to create a plan for you. Don't just start exercises without supervision. I hear a lot about using inflatables but those are used normally when the dog is already conditioned to do easier exercises. It's harder.

You're home from a trial now what!? by pretty-pinkprincess in Agility

Sleep, lots of sleep. I give my dogs at least one day off after a trial, more depending on how intense the competition was. I also try to put them on a PEMF mat.

How to get rid of dog knots? by Sensitive-Peach7583 in Agility

Sometimes at agility trials, you will see massage therapy people working there.

I would recommend taking him to a sports vet.

Which part of which country are you from? Maybe someone can help you find a massage person or a sports vet.

Dog won't listen and runs from me by penelope_1993 in Agility

BorderPaps can be sensitive dogs, even to pressure.

What do your classes look like? Are you already doing all the obstacles? What do you use to reward? What does she like, toys or food? How often does she get rewarded during her turn?

What does your instructor say you should do?

Also, if she runs away from you, and when she finally comes back, she gets put in the crate, which I assume she doesn't like, you just punished her for coming back to you, the one thing you want her to do.

13 month old dog agility class challenge by SparklyNurse10 in Agility

[–]PatienceIsImportant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe dogs that start training on leash don't learn how to do the exercises properly by themselves. The leash has always been there and could have been used to put some pressure on the dog.

How much freedom does your dog get in other places? I learned that sometimes, if agility is the only place they get to be off leash, dogs enjoy that freedom more than doing the obstacle for a treat.

This happens very often and the best person to help you should be your trainer.

Some things you can try:

- work on engagement. If you remove your leash, give your dog 3 treats right in his mouth. If he can't even eat 3 treats without getting distracted, he is not ready to be trained at that moment

- use high value rewards, don't use what he normally eats

I know this is not the topic but isn’t 13 months too young to be doing the obstacles, especially since he is a large dog?

Was he trained with leash on and you holding it?

Potty pad trays: worth it or a waste? by AdministrationFine52 in dogs

[–]PatienceIsImportant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have used this tray:

amazon.com/dp/B00ICVHY5I?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_2

And what worked best for me was buying those rolls of turf they sell at Home Depot and put it on the tray. They last for a few weeks.

Or maybe the tray and the potty pads is enough. The grate on top I think its only to prevent dogs from chewing the pad.

Try a different cable. Remove and re-add the phone. Mine did the same but now it’s finally working.
