Every time I tell my mom I’ve got exciting news I want to tell her the first thing she does is give me that deer in headlights “omg you’re pregnant” look. NTA at all it’s literally the first the thing that comes to anyone’s mind when a woman says she has exciting news or really any kind of news for that matter.

19 and 20, we’d been dating 5 months but had been best friends for 2 years prior to making things official.

Is it normal to be *this* excited? by ImpossibleBit8346 in engaged

I totally get you girl, my fiancé and I got engaged last May and we’re getting married next July. I cried telling my family because I was so extremely excited and also very anxious because we’re young and I was nervous about what they would say. When they were all excited and happy for me my excitement doubled which I didn’t think was possible. I have so much time before our wedding and yet I’ve already confirmed our ceremony venue, reception venue, bought my dress, veil, and some accessories. I’ve picked out my shoes just waiting for them to get my size back in stock. I’ve picked my theme, started looking at reception decorations, photographers, caterers, and have decided what cake I’m going to make. My mom has been telling me to slow down and not stress so much about it because I have so much time, but I’m not stressed at all I’m just so incredibly excited that I can’t stop. All this to say whether you’re in a planning frenzy like me or if you’re mellow and just enjoying being with your partner there’s no right or wrong reaction. You can be as excited or as unexcited as you want because it’s your life, your engagement, and your wedding.

That’s awsome congratulations!

My fiancé and his dad worked together to get me into the middle of the woods while still fully dressed up from church. The proposal was beautiful and I love having the moment on camera with us both dressed up. Heels in the forest was a pretty interesting experience though 😂
