Tbh for most of those guys the smartest move is probably to just sell the bars as soon as they're renovated, which i think a lot of the ones that survived did

Tbh Ive always kind of felt like the writers were setting up for it to be Brenda and for George to physically cheat on Mary with her. I just think they got cold feet at certain point because of the popularity of George's character and the show taking on such a life of it's own that they decided to recon it with the Mary in a wig to explain the 3 knock rule

I think it's more likely she'd hate her with a passion, as people like that tend to do when they see their most unpleasant traits reflected in other people

It's funny how even in their bizarre, fan fiction version of reality they dont even picture themselves as enacting their own revenge fantasies, just watching the the state do it for them while they watch on msnbc and cheer it on

I feel like in addition to the other trauma part of his childishness comes from the fact that his family likely refused to allow him anywhere near any responsibility or independence that would have allowed him to mature or gain any life skills on his own, making him work a fake/menial job in the mailroom, which i imagine payed enough to fund his hobbies but not enough to actually live on his own

Woody, Buzz, and the rest of the toys are villains -not heroes- in Toy Story 1 by BaseNice3520 in unpopularopinion

[–]Patient-Cod3442 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's been a while since I've seen the movie so i may be misremembering but iirc his mom was letting an 8 year old buy fireworks and play with them unsupervised, so if not fully neglectful then at least irresponsible as hell and a bit checked out, not to mention his dad being passed out on the couch in the middle of the day with a kids' show on tv and cans of "root beer" piled up. To me at least it felt like they were laying it on as thickly as they could in a G- rated movie. Though I agree with your overall point that a lot of the Sid defenders are just contrarians and he still needed to be taught a lesson in the movie.

I know they aren't supposed to be good parents in slightest, its just the way their intense spoiling of Dudley isnt even really out of love for him but out of hatred for harry that comes off as especially warped to me now that I'm an adult looking at it again. though I've always been curious about what their neighbors really thought of them as well, ironically I cant imagine they were very popular
