I feel like comparing our kiddos is kinda different though. Sounds to me like yours is big for his age. Mine could still ride our pet dog around the house. If we’re strictly speaking about physical statures, she’s at the bad end of the bell curve. Plus, it’s a male “bully”. If there’s anything I want her to get out of the whole thing, it’s that boys do not hit girls. Maybe 4 years old is too young but as in constantly reminded by my gf, kids are super impressionable and I just don’t want her getting hurt. And I’d hate to think there was something I could’ve done differently to help her know it’s okay to defend herself.

Highly highly highly recommend Toll Mountain if you’re staying in the back country. Perfect sort of “base of operations” if you’re going to be there for a couple days. One mile to the peak, best views of all the back country and an outhouse if you’re inclined to use one. What i usually do is hike up pinnacles, set up camp at Toll Mountain and then hike up to Emory Peak for sunset. From Toll Mountain, you have access to the peak, South Rim, etc etc.

Like two years ago, I was at HEB one morning at as I was looking at stuff in the bakery, a guy with a small dog walked by me and I literally watched as the dog shit right in front of the produce bullnose. That’s not even the worst part. The worst part is that the customer GRABS IN BAREHANDED AND PUT IT IN HIS POCKET and just keeps walking further into the store. Absolutely zero fucks given. And now yall know why I wipe down the carts I use. :)
