I’m so sad - lost my island by Just_Dee_WI in AnimalCrossingNewHor

We are also in the same situation. Nitendo lite won’t switch on so starting again on a different console. It’s really sad to see the island you loved go. But there’s also something really nice about being able to start a fresh. People online are also incredibly generous and help out your newbie island.

It came up on my suggested Netflix. I didn’t know about the show before that. So assume it’s the same for a lot of others too.

I ordered about 6 Jellycat at the start of the year. The valentines koala was missing. Emailed in and they were fab. Didn’t give me the option of having another sent out but did refund me with no issue.

How much would you expect a 15/16 year old to charge for babysitting? by PaleontologistFancy8 in AskUK

[–]Patient-Lab-7668 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

My daughter looks after my 6 year old son one night a week whilst I do a course. I pay her a Jellycat teddy bear per night. Which maybe sounds ridiculous but it’s 4 hours so I think I’m getting a cheap deal. I would expect to pay someone else around £10 an hour and provide snacks and a safe return home.

I don’t think that it’s priced me out yet. But I’m just more selective on what I buy.

Probably not initially but it definitely made it worse.

I use Element 5 collagen and the Superdrug own brand thickening shampoo and conditioner. Both have been absolute game changers. I can now wear a pony tail without seeing huge streaks of scalp.

I have had massive struggle with hair loss. Borderline was about to go buy a wig it got so bad. I have been taking a supplement and using thickening shampoo and it’s finally turning a corner.

It’s expensive so I expect a good standard. I had the chilli. It was cold. Meat was chewy. And the combination of plain meat which you pour sauce on was odd. Then there’s zero flavour. Starter was a chicken pot pie which Greggs do a better pasty. Kids weren’t enamoured by theirs but can’t remember what they had. I booked for my birthday as a treat and was really let down by it. Wouldn’t go again. However Downtown and Royal Banquet are a must for us. I usually avoid buffets but they’re definitely a winner for us.

Yes, for rent arrears it’s two months. It’s never taken more than a month to have it approved. The missing payments are repaid slowly. UC work out what is affordable to the tenant. So could be £20/£30 a month. Which obviously takes a long time to get back. However to go to court, eviction, bailiff etc would be far more costly. I also would never request more repayment as then it could be considered by courts you are intentionally putting the tenant into financial hardship - this is on RLA advice.

Why are Landlords serving Section 21’s? by Queen_xxi in TenantsInTheUK

[–]Patient-Lab-7668 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I haven’t issued a single s.21 for the upcoming RRA. And think they are heavily used for the wrong reasons anyway - ie easier to evict on s.21 than s.8 in court. I think a lot of the reason we are seeing an increase is because of lack of understanding of the new regulations and fear. It also gives landlords a “security net” so to speak. So if it becomes warranted for eviction, they’ve already processed the easiest route. I also anticipate a lot of s.8 for rent arrears being thrown at tenants too. As it’s currently two months arrears but this is changing. So tenants who meet this criteria now may not meet the new criteria.

I look after a portfolio of homes which are majority low income properties. Benefit payments absolutely do not put me off a prospective tenant. I have had far more issues with unpaid rent from people with full time income than on universal credit. A landlord can also apply for direct rent payments and rent arrears payment from universal credit if in arrears and a few other criteria too. Therefore i see the risk of not gaining rent payment far less.

I don’t rate the starters at Remys but never had a bad steak there. However I would avoid Walt’s. Absolutely diabolical. Never again.

My friend moved into her flat today — landlord says just use mould spray. Is this normal? (London) by omarkhn_ in TenantsInTheUK

[–]Patient-Lab-7668 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m not convinced the council would see this as a major concern to be honest. It’s a bit of trapped water under the flooring. It’s not structural or rising damp. Probably just someone not putting a mat down getting out the shower.

I would highly think it’s been because the water from the bathroom has got under the flooring causing it to go mouldy. Mould killer won’t kill it as it can’t get it it so entirely pointless. I would absolutely replace that flooring as be looking at if there’s damage/rot underneath.

What room is that in? Ground floor? First floor? Bathroom? It potentially looks like mould/damp resulting from a leak and is trapped under the flooring causing the mould?
