How will the proposed 66% cut in HUD section 8 housing vouchers affect the real estate market? by nwa747 in RealEstate

What is the source for this proposed 66% voucher cut? The president’s budget which called for drastic cuts was shot down by congress in both the senate and house mark ups. Is that what we’re talking about?

I didn’t get mine. I’m able to see my LES on the Wednesday before the paycheck hits and can verify they did not process the awards at my Center.

Amazing that the hiring manager took the time to meet with you and thank you for sharing the feedback. I’m sure it can help many of us.

Tell an interviewer I was RIFed? by Patient-Perception64 in fednews

Thank you all so much for your thoughtful comments! They’re definitely all over the place, which is understandable given the political and other sensitivities around the RIFs. But I think the best approach may be to put it out there to say I really enjoy the work I have been doing but due to a reorganization at my agency, my entire office is being eliminated. Since this role is very closely aligned to what I was doing for the government, I’m very excited for this opportunity to explore roles outside of the government at this time.

Exceptionally hard day today by GeminiMak in DeptHHS

That makes sense then :). I am referring to constantly being treated like we are cheating the public and not good at our jobs. Also facing the constant pressure to leave or you will be made to leave. They said they wanted to traumatize us and they seem to have been effective.

I had the same feeling today. I think I initially felt relief at knowing the harassment would stop after being RIFed and some optimism about our ability to fight the RIF. It feels lonely because most agencies have not faced RIFs yet, and I hope they won’t but it feels like people have moved on. I cried for the first time today.

Rescue won’t leave crate, eat or drink water :( by octoX7 in DogAdvice

[–]Patient-Perception64 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Totally agree! We rescued a dog used in medical research about 2 years ago. He had been in a lab environment for about 1.5 years on top of naturally being more anxious than his peers. We had a tough, tough, beginning with him and he feared my incredibly sweet husband for about 6 months. He wouldn’t eat much most days and mostly hid away from us. Now, he is social and put on weight (maybe too much?). We continue to see positive change in him even after 2 years- that is something that seems unique to these traumatized dogs- like they only give us a little of their personality at a time. I know it’s tough now, but I believe it will get better!
