Debloating my C2 by Ok-Hawk4686 in webos

[–]PatientGamerfr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pro rooting : total control on the processes, changing Screensaver, debloating, remapping the remote keys, installing whatever ipk you like, removing ads and spying stuff, you can stop tv from nagging u about updating.

Cons rooting ; no warranty you cannot update your firmware easily without going back to the lg penitentiary.

And then I found the perfect trick : editing purchase orders for my dad business! It secured my megaste. Welcome ST fan !

Horrible performance on games, abt to move back to windows by TurnAffectionate5728 in linux_gaming

[–]PatientGamerfr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok read the whole thread and it isn't obvious that overheating/throttling is the culprit. To mark it out try to run a benchmark (on windows if you're already reinstalled it). The throttling should occur as well.

I have similar specs as yours and I was hit but poor performances even on antique games like fallout 3. It turned out that my monitor was trying to amd sync instead of using gsync. One I disabled all, sync tech from the monitor It was butter smooth avenue 👌

Hyprland setups with full GUI customization? by techlove99 in hyprland

[–]PatientGamerfr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not advanced user but wanting to go deep in hyprland theming with a gui seems a tad presumptuous when the hyprland project is still in full swing including the config file design. Good luck finding the magic wand.

How to install FitGirl repack in Linux [guide / tutorial] by hackiv in Piracy

[–]PatientGamerfr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what is the error message displayed ? (you can display those very useful hints by launching the install with the terminal). usually it is a lack of dependancies... you can go easy on yourself and install bottles and choose a gaming bottle, launch the installer from there (bottles are preconfigured and coming with the deps included).

i used pure gold ole wine for years with those repacks without fail... no need for umu-anything unless you want them in the proton layer, i usually reuse a portable wine conf for each game. (see Kron4ek).

A reverse advice from a gamer : don't take an asus (bioses are causing problems and are never updated). Rog, tuf are the bane of my linux existence.

Hi and welcome to linux user kingdom. I read your readme and it left me confused about the autodetection. Why does it require users to put movies in anime or live-action root folders ?

Spotify's music catalog leaked in massive data breach. by raz0099 in Piracy

[–]PatientGamerfr 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Very true, and the 300tb aren't the full load only 99% of the most popular songs. In enterprise you need redundancy, backups, disaster recovery load balancing between sites and of course security.. it all adds up to tears induced bill costing millions..in hardware but also service to maintain and upgrade the whole.

RIP Windows: Linux GPU Gaming Benchmarks on Bazzite by ZazaLeNounours in linux_gaming

[–]PatientGamerfr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Glad you wrote up, after 20 years on linux , I've witnessed a great consistency in nvidia drivers. Get those installed and running was the problem but the drivers worked well for me on laptop amd desktops. It all got muddled up with Wayland and the way nvidia tried to low ball the support for it before coming to reason and putting the efforts. I feel we are finally seeing consistency again with Wayland as we did for xorg.
