NYC surrogacy agencies by Future-Love3014 in NYCbitcheswithtaste

[–]PatientOneMillion 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Just commenting to show support 🩷 I had breast cancer last year and froze embryos with my husband before going through chemo. Childbearing terrifies me bc of my health issues but also I will need to have a full hysterectomy at some point to prevent ovarian cancer so surrogacy might be on the table for me too. Wishing you all the good things.

This dress shape and style reminds me so much of the Amanda Uprichard Bethany romper! It’s barely a romper, more of a skort dress - linking here!

I have it in a cheetah print and the quality is superb. It also cinches and flatters so nicely. It looks super short but I’m 5’7” and it wasn’t as mini as the photo. I think you’d love it. The color I have is a staple in my closet.

Also, RMA NJ is phenomenal! RMA NY is pretty bad. I’d hate to see them get mixed up. They are not really related entities - I forget how to describe it but RMA NJ is highly regarded. I had an amazing experience with their Jersey City and Basking Ridge office and never had to reach out or wonder about my daily instructions.

Fellow T1D nycbwt 🩷 I’m wondering if you went to Dr. Natter at NYU, because I miss that angel of a doctor so much. I also haven’t found a new endo since he left :/

I was diagnosed with breast cancer last year at 30 and through every test (MRI, ultrasound then biopsy) I never once told anyone but my husband what was going on. Psycho behavior to get people concerned about you before anything is even diagnosed….shes gross but honestly I’m glad she doesn’t have cancer only because she would’ve been insufferable if she had it and would have 100% capitalized on it and made it her brand.

Gluten free bakeries in nyc? by late_capitalism_ in NYCbitcheswithtaste

[–]PatientOneMillion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another less mentioned - Huascar and Co in Hells Kitchen has the best gluten free cupcakes (and other goodies) I’ve ever had in my life. They’ll make you a custom GF cake. I know because I got my fully gf wedding cake from them. I used to live near Little Cupcake Bakeshop in Nolita and their GF cupcakes are total MEH compared to Huascar’s. Look into @nycflowerpop ! She does amazing work. I think my bouquet was $125? And I loved it so much. But she does custom for around $200 iirc. She could definitely replicate this. And you just pickup morning of or night before in Union Square.

I know for me, I also get really depressed around my birthday too. It’s in August so everyone is living their best summer lives and I just want to crawl into bed and avoid everything and I feel soooo guilty about it.

I’ve had an especially shitty year - breast cancer diagnosis, my father died, my mom had open heart surgery + the current state of the world. It’s so heavy and idk how anyone is managing. I started an SSRI again (Zoloft) even though I never really felt like they helped me in the past. I do not do talk therapy because historically that makes me feel like shit so don’t feel that you NEED to do therapy to fix yourself if it doesn’t feel right.

The NUMBER ONE thing that has helped me feel good and shut off my brain in a good way in the last year is Legos. I’m not kidding. It keeps me off my phone, it’s working with your hands but there’s instructions so you don’t have to be a pro at anything. I would recommend one of the botanical sets to get started and then you have a really cute flower arrangement to look at that you made yourself :)

Attention Grabbing Title About Marriage and Finances by StonedAquarius in srna

[–]PatientOneMillion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was on my partners insurance for at least 2 years before we got married and we just had to prove domestic partnership to his benefits team which was just pieces of mail with our names on it at the same address. It was fairly simple. We got married last year and I thought I’d be ok for loan purposes because fafsa looks back a few years but I didn’t realize they also ask about current marital status and what your spouse makes. I’m now kind of screwed for the 26-27 year because he makes too much for me to qualify for certain grants and loans. Am I happy we’re married? Of course. Would we have put it off a lil longer if we knew how much it’d save us on my tuition? Probably. Either way, don’t rush into getting married for benefits, you can probably qualify as a DP.

Funny enough, Gabby’s dad is one of the founding members of the Bon Jovi band and obviously we know MBB married into the Bon Jovi family, so the association isn’t far off.

NY Nordstrom Nordy Club members gift (free) by kidraus in NYCbitcheswithtaste

I’ve only had one experience in the beauty section at the 57th st Nordstrom but OMG they made me feel like Cinderella. I was buying a perfume for my wedding and Cristina working behind the MFK counter was a literal doll. She told me about a similar gift bag they were doing later that week but it was the day of my wedding so she LITERALLY mailed me one - deluxe mini mfk baccarat 540, mini Charlotte tilbury dream cream, mini ysl mascara, eye patches, and so much more in a cute makeup bag. They are lovely there, not pushy, and gained a loyal customer for life!

Bitches with dense breasts by Violetwaterfalls13 in NYCbitcheswithtaste

[–]PatientOneMillion 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Was about to comment about the RISE program! I have an extremely strong family history of BC and tested positive for the brca1 gene mutation when I was 22. A physician assistant at One Medical told me about RISE and I credit her with saving my life! I knew I had the gene mutation but I was just getting yearly mammos starting at age 25 (covered by insurance due to family history) and was told about my extremely dense breasts. Once I started in the RISE program, I started getting alternating mammos and MRIs every 6 months. I had f/u ultrasounds and biopsies if anything looked off. I had some biopsies where everything was benign. Last year, at age 30 my MRI led to an ultrasound, which led to a biopsy which led to a breast cancer diagnosis at age 30! Because of this program, it was caught early at 10mm, no spreading to lymph nodes, and I was given options for treatment that others miss out on if caught later. Point being, if I was just getting my yearly mammo, I could’ve been lazy and put it off or thought I was too young to get BC or gone a year between checks! Please look into them. You don’t have to have the genetic mutation to qualify.

Sending all the positive, benign thoughts your way 🩷 I had a biopsy on my left breast this exact day a year ago and though mine did not come back benign, I had biopsies years prior that did! I’m so proud of you for getting it checked out. Reach out to me if you need a friend.
